Everything was good about the property

Dining area was a little old style but not too bad

The food and services were excellent.

The cleanliness of the rooms was not as it should be.

The best asset of the hotel is the staff at the main restaurant in the basement. The staff were phenomenally courteous, humble, usually provided fast service, were very polite, friendly and helpful. I didn't get the names of the ladies who greeted us at the restaurant everyday, but they were very professional and always smiling. The food was exceptionally tasty with a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner which was ideal as we were there for 7 nights! Housekeeping - was tremendously punctual everyday, we forgot the name of the cleaning lady, but she went above our expectations in keeping our room tidy and clean. The landscape of the garden behind the hotel, along with all the swimming pools - amazingly beautiful to look at and absorb.

Unfortunately, this should have been a 5 star review, however, I am reluctantly giving it 3 stars due to some negative experiences: 1) despite the hotel being advertised as 5 stars - it only provides 1 iron and 1 ironing board which the hundreds of guests "must share" in the laundry room opposite the reception. Management explained this was due to health and safety of guests in their rooms. I disagree: there are thousands of 4 & 5 star hotels around the world that provide an iron in the room, who also have the highest safety standards. I suspect the hotel is trying to save costs and using the "safety card" as an excuse. To their credit, they did allow me to use the iron in my room on 2 occasions (however, you have to raise a complaint first which was very stressful). 2) Guest Relations - bad attitude: there was a large lady at guest relations whom we first had the misfortune of speaking to, she had a bad attitude, wasn't helpful. We tried to communicate our grievance about the lack of facilities in the room, however, she did not say much, except that she would send us a message via WhatsApp - where we could communicate. She made me feel very uncomfortable. 3) Children's play area unsafe: there are 2 coloured slides i.e., 1 green and 1 yellow behind the children's swimming pool, and immediately below the slide there is very hard concrete surface. There should be gym mats or other appropriate mats here to prevent injuries being sustained. Our child used the slide on one occasion, and unfortunately fell onto the "hard concrete surface", she was naturally crying much for some time, totally unsafe. 4) hotel reception providing false information over the phone: I called the reception to arrange a taxi to the airport in the morning, a male advised the taxi was all arranged, however, on checking out only a few minutes later, I was advised that no taxi had been arranged. I could have missed our flight!
