The Great Escape is a 3 story, 4 bedroom, OCEANFRONT house that is located on the serene Ponte Vedra Beach. This gem boasts a 2nd story main living area, a 1st floor studio suite with private entrance and a 3rd floor loft. Sleeps 8
Welcome to The Great Escape! This oceanfront gem is located in the heart of beautiful, quiet and serene Ponte Vedra Beach. The house boasts 3 story beach living with amazing window and deck views and outdoor spaces, sleeps 8 and has been completely renovated from the ground up! Our Beautiful Beach House is nestled on a secluded stretch of beach that has no public parking or access nearby and is only 8 miles from historic downtown St. Augustine, just minutes from shopping, dining and the best tourist attractions.
The home has a newly remodeled, studio, mother-in-law suite on the first floor with its own private entrance, private kitchen, bathroom, sleeping space with king bed, living room, 55` smart tv, laundry and outdoor space.
The second story (the main living area) has amazing deck space overlooking Ponte Vedra Beach and the ocean and outdoor dining and grill that overlooks the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean. The main living area has an open floor plan with lots of sunlight, window views, eat-in kitchen and living room. The main level master bedroom has a king bed, and the second bedroom has a queen bed. The loft on the third floor has two addition twin beds for the comfort of your family and friends. Each bedroom has its own smart tv and clothing storage.
The house sits just across from the Guana Ocean Environmental Reserve where you can hike, jog, kayak, and bike while surrounded by protected wildlife. More than 3,800 sea turtles hatch on Ponte Vedra Beach each year, and the Guana Reserve works hard to protect the wildlife that`s right outside our door! Outside on the property, enjoy visiting on the large balcony that includes a charcoal grill, a picnic table for beachside cookouts, reclining lounge chairs around the firepit for relaxing, and the perfect hammock for an afternoon siesta by the sea. This section of beach offers a lot of privacy, sounds and views of breaking waves, amazing seashells and some of the best surf fishing around, so bring your poles and catch dinner! In the evening enjoy the firepit while kicking back in the Adirondack chairs to enjoy the cool ocean breeze with a bottle of wine. Beach chairs and beach games are also provided! There is also a storage shed if you want to bring your own beach cruisers, poles and surf boards. More than
1. Quiet hours in town limits are from 9:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. and are enforced.
2. Absolutely no smoking/vaping inside the house. If you are smoking outside, all cigarette butts, must be disposed of properly and not left on the ground. Please return all outside furniture if moved, to the original location.
3. Maintain cleanliness at all times. Do not move furniture from its original location.
4. Maximum of two dogs per reservation, and the pet fee must be paid at the time of booking. No pets on furniture/beds.
5. Special events or gatherings/parties are not permitted during your stay. We must be made aware of the number of guests that will be staying and cannot exceed the maximum number of guests listed. Visitors are limited to two hours each day, not during overnight hours. No parking on the street please.
Checkout Procedures:
1. Please do your best to leave the house in good condition for the housekeepers. They very often have a limited amount of time to get the house clean and sanitized prior to the arrival of the next guest.
2. Remove ALL food and trash from the house. Place trash in the garbage bins provided for you and take to the end of the driveway to be picked up by the public waste management department (Garbage is Monday) Bring all bins back up to house after pick-up.
3. Start the dishwasher.
4. Gather all used bath linens and place in the bathtub.
5. Make sure thermostat is set 70 degrees, close all windows, and lock all doors.
***Additional fees can and will be applied to your reservation for leaving the house in excessive disarray, for damages or for leaving food and garbage inside the house.***

My mom, sister and I booked for a quiet girls weekend. If you want quiet and privacy on the oceanfront, you cannot be this location. We stayed in mid-April for 7 days and there would be maybe one or two people walking by every couple of hours. Having the upper and lower units was a nice feature, but note that you can hear all conversations though the ventilation between the two floors, not an issue for us. The entire home was very clean when we arrived and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I love to cook and found the available utensils, pans, etc very adequate, despite some other's reviews. The mattresses do need to be replaced, both my sister and I would have preferred more comfortable beds. Checkout cleanup requests were easy and very reasonable. Convenient proximity to St. Augustine and Jax. Unexpected bonus was the ability to enjoy both sunrise and sunset views. We would definitely stay here again.

Our family had an amazing time and made memories to last a lifetime. The property was clean, the communication for check in and check out with the owner was exceptional, and the views were breathtaking. It was so nice having coffee, breakfast, and lunch feet away from the beach. We hope to return in the future.

The listing makes the place look bigger than it is. Smaller than expected. The beds were nasty, hairs in the sheets, pillows and master bed cover had stains and hairs all over. Had to wash all sheets and bed cover for the bed and the lower level bed, same way. There isn’t any hot water in the kitchen. The bathroom sink is useless, the faucet goes down in the bowl where you can’t wash your hands without touching the bowl. The water pressure for the second level shower is not strong enough you will need to use the lower level to shower. The stand the microwave is on is very wobbly, you have to hold it to open the door. The sliding door to the balcony needs replaced. The door will not open properly without using two hands and it has to be pulled hard and wiggled to open some. There is sand and grit down in the tracks. The furniture has stains on it. Need to cover to use. The air conditioner during the day gets up to 74, unit isn’t big enough to go below until early morning it was 70 but won’t drop below that. So if you like cold air, it won’t be like that. They do provide fans that do help with that. The beach is private which we did love and when it’s high tide the waves come up to the balcony. Overall the trip was good but listings for travel places never seem to be honest when it comes to trying to find a good place to stay.
