I spent a week in Moab with my daughter who is in college. We man biked and hiked, and of course stayed at the Desert Garden. It was perfect, could walk everywhere, super cute with a really nice yard to relax in. Will definitely try to stay here again on our next visit to Moab.

While overall, the experience was adequate, Desert Gardens loses one point for lack of ambiance and one point for some key deficiencies. On ambiance, one of the reasons we chose Desert Gardens were the photos of the grounds shaded by large trees; we liked the idea of a shady oasis in town. On arrival, we immediately noticed that two of the large trees in the photos had been cut down, leaving the yard in full sun for most of the day. Inside, the decor appeared to be a failed attempt at a vintage 1950s look (to match the 50s building, I expect). The vintage items scattered among the modern pieces were not particularly appealing examples of the 50/60s era. There were a couple of nice photos of local landscapes, but they didn't match the vintage decor. The rugs appeared to be modern rugs made to look worn, but their style didn't match the vintage feel either. A wreath on the door managed to poke me in the face each time I entered. The wreath of plastic flowers on the mirror over the fireplace was less than charming. I'd have preferred to have the TV mounted more centrally in place of the wreath, rather than on the side near the windows where reflections interfered with the picture. The furniture was fairly comfortable, but didn't rise to the level of appealing or charming. A few key deficiencies led to frustration. The bathroom would have been greatly improved by the addition of some towel bars and counter space, cupboards, or shelves to put things on. Instead, towels had to be hung awkwardly on some vintage-looking racks. Food from the previous tenant was also left in the refrigerator and two water cups were broken. Finally, there is no dishwasher and guests are expected to wash dishes before they leave. In general, cleaning was adequate but not top notch. Overall, I would rate our experience at Desert Gardens #2 as good enough, but not wonderful.
