About this cottage rental
You won't find a better location if you want to be right in the mix of everything! The newly renovated 4 bedroom, 1-1/2 bath cottage is right downtown Lake City and is within walking distance to everything... restaurants, beaches, ice cream, parks, shops and more! Lake Missaukee is a clear, shallow, sandy bottom lake with over 1,800 acres of all-sports activities. We have a brand new 60' dock, as well as a 2017 Crest pontoon available to rent at an additional cost! Our beach is perfect for kids to swim.... great sandy bottom and stays between 2' to 3' in depth more than 100' out from shore. The lake also has excellent year-round fishing, a large sand bar to hang out on, parks, a county campground and several beaches to explore.
The property has four bedrooms and sleeps up to 9 guests. It has queen sized beds in two bedrooms, a bunk bed (twin over full) in the main floor bedroom, and two single beds in the other built-in bunk room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils, pots, and pans to make you feel right at home. The main floor laundry room has a front loading high efficient washer and dryer and the attached garage is converted into a game room for the kids to hang out. We have Spectrum cable with televisions in two bedrooms and the living room. We also have high speed internet with WiFi throughout the home.
Other included amenities include a new Weber gas grill, a large 15' x 6' foam float pad, fire pit, two adult bicycles and three kayaks. If you're up for ice cream after a fun day in the sun, the local ice cream shop is a block away and has huge cones! If you want to shop, there are many little shops in Lake City, as well as the surrounding area. Cadillac is 15 minutes away and offers more shops, restaurants, Caberfae Ski Resort and water sport activities. Or take a short road trip to Traverse City (within an hour) to explore the Old Mission Peninsula, it's beautiful scenery, beaches and wine tasting tours!

Best location in all of Lake City! Clean, modern, and all the includds all the "toys" you could want. Wonderful property, and I am only regretful that I do not own it.

The cottage was in a great location, walking distance to Tasty Treat and anything we needed in downtown Lake City. We loved that it had a great view of the lake and easy access. We found it easy to park, convenient for laundry, and the beds were comfortable. The home is decorated very nicely and was a joy to stay in.

The home was well maintained. Unfortunately there is a house right next to the rental so your water view and opportunity to be right in the lake are poor. Based on the listing we were under the impression the home was on the water. There is water access but the house does not sit right on the lake as the photos show. There is no air conditioner which is fine, however when we opened all the windows almost every screen had holes in it and let in a ton of bugs in. The main house has a bedroom upstairs with a half bath but the listing does not say this is loft style with no door. There was a lack of privacy due to this. We also rented their boat and the day before we were to arrive they contacted us to inform us the cover/shade on the boat was ripped and not on the boat. We specifically need shade due to our elderly parents and our son. The owners did not offer to refund any money and we never even used the boat. For the price we paid for the house and boat I would have expected better. Overall this stay was not worth the price.
