The good stuff: the home is large, accommodated a retired couple, three younger adults, and a toddler in a lovely vacation spot convenient to beaches and pools. Quite comfy, great kitchen. The bad: the photos show a tv, listing shows cable/satellite, but there is none. The landlord's reply to our complaint? We can stream. We felt this reply was dismissive, and didn't address the inaccurate amenities list. There is no screen that could be used to stream so the family could watch a movie together or entertain a young child. The laundry room was filthy, and the outdoor chairs and barbecue should be replaced. The ugly: By far the most unpleasant thing about the home were the signs: Don't touch, take off shoes, don't cut on counters. A sign on the fridge says WELCOME and then lists a dozen chores to keep the place clean. Sweep the leaves off the deck? Give us a break. People are neat or slobs, signs don't change their behavior, especially when we charged for cleaning.

This house has a lot of potential but it missed the mark for our family trip. POSITIVES - Our family loves Arrowhead Lake. We have been coming on and off for 7 years and love the community and amenities. - There is ample parking and the driveway makes it easy to use for multiple vehicles - The furniture in the house is comfortable - The house is spacious and has a nice set up for multiple families NEGATIVES - The house is listed as having air conditioning. It only has a unit in 1 of the 3 bedrooms. The unit has not been properly installed to drain outside so if you are using it, it may beed to be emptied often (depending on the humidity). While you don’t often need A/C in the Poconos, we always need it on our family trips in August. We ended up leaving 2 days early because it was hot/humid/stormy. - The pictures on VBRO show 1 television. There are NO televisions in the house. Thankfully I saw that noted on another review prior to our trip so we were able to bring one with us. While most of our planned activities are outside, there are always stormy days where a TV is nice to have. - The house was not cleaned before we arrived. There were dead spiders on the beds. Live and dead ants throughout the downstairs (primarily in the master). I had to wipe down the fridge before putting our items in. - While it’s typical to see a binder in a home with things to do when you arrive and leave, there were notes throughout the house telling us what to do and what not to do. We didn’t feel welcome to make ourself comfortable and enjoy our vacation.
