About this house rental
The main level features a spacious living room/kitchen combo with a great view of the Spider Lake. There's a large flat-panel TV with cable and a large deck just off the living room. The fully stocked kitchen includes a gas stove, dishwasher, and all the tools needed to prepare meals for the whole family. Additionally, there is a wood-burning fireplace in the living room. There are two bedrooms: one with a king bed and the other with two queens, each equipped with "Smart TVs” rather than Cable TVs. There is also one full bathroom and a half bath.
Upstairs, there's a bedroom with a king bed and a full bathroom.
The walk-out lower level features three bedrooms. One room has a queen, the other rooms have two twins and one full bathroom. There's a fantastic family/game room to relax in, with opportunities to play pool, shuffleboard, or Pac-Man. Afterward, you can unwind in front of a large TV with cable! There's also an enclosed porch off the lower level family room that overlooks the water (please note that the outdoor room can get hot and muggy in the heat of summer).
The outdoor area is fabulous. You'll find private lakefront with plenty of space for water activities. There are approximately 25 stairs down to the water. The shore is a bit soft, and the sand gets harder as you move out into the lake. There are four kayaks, a canoe, and a pedal boat available for water fun, as well as a swim raft. There's a boat launch just down the street if you want to bring your own boat or rent one. The property also has a dock where a boat up to 22' can be tied. Additionally, a gas grill, outdoor furniture, and a fire pit enhance the outdoor experience. Tippicanoe Lodge promises to be an unforgettable vacation. A well-behaved dog is welcome with an additional nonrefundable cleaning fee. However, their humans are expected to clean up after their pets outside.
Grace McDonald Park is about 2 miles from the house. Spider Lake is located 12 miles south of downtown Traverse City. It's an easy trip to the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, which is only 11.5 miles away. Shopping is conveniently located just 5 miles from the property. At various times throughout the year you can also enjoy festivals, wine tours, hiking, biking, music, and more. Elmbrook Golf Course is only 5 miles away. There's so much to do in this great northern area.

House was great for a large group of adults. Plenty of space for everyone to be together. House was very clean upon arrival and check in was easy. Beds and furniture were comfortable, and kitchen decently equipped. Some recent updates made the house seem newer. Only caution for those who have knee issues, there are several steps down to the lake. Overall good place to stay with many add-ons like pool table and kayaks.

Enjoyed our stay at this waterfront house. The house was comfortable for our group of 10. The lower level family was great for the kids to play games and stay up late without disturbing others in the house. We were able to rent a pontoon to dock at the house and had fun on Spider Lake. The house is not far from Traverse City, the airport, golf, and restaurants. The family favorite was a trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes. Checking in and out was easy. I would recommend this house.

There were 12 of us spending the week at this lovely rental home. Three different families celebrating a big birthday & being all together. Every one of us loved our time spider Lake, from swimming to kayaking to having grandma shuttle the kids to the swim platform in the paddle boat! The layout of the house was perfect for us!

We had a fantastic week on Spider Lake. The weather was perfect. Tippicanoe Lodge was perfect. Our group consisted of eight adults and four boys, ages 5-7 years old.The bedrooms and baths were great. The kitchen, dining area, and living space were open, so there was plenty of room for everyone to gather. The kitchen was well-equipped, had two refrigerators, and a pantry. We utilized the laundry every day.There is a two-car garage that we used for storing gear we brought. There is a large deck overlooking the lake, and it is well-shaded. We utilized the dock and the swim platform each day. We used the fire ring each evening.We planned most meals and found everything we needed at Oleson's grocery. There were a couple of big take-out orders from Peegeo's. And a fantastic meal at Jolly Pumpkin.We spent a day at Clinch Park on the bay, but other than that, we weren't out as much as we expected. The little ones were busy at the lodge. They loved the hot tub. We brought along a fishing boat, which got a lot of use by many people every day. The lodge offers a pedal boat, several kayaks, and a canoe. We had most of those in the lake each day. The little boys had success fishing from the dock and the swimming platform each morning and night. We made trips to the sandbar near one of the islands.There are many wonderful memories from our stay together last week. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Spider Lake and the amenities at the Tippicanoe Lodge.
