Antonio is a true gem and an incredible human being. We arrived on a cold, rainy evening for a three-night stay, but unfortunately, we encountered some issues with the heating and the shower water temperature. While Antonio immediately promised to have everything fixed by the next day, we felt it was best for us to move on. Even though we had a non-refundable booking, Antonio’s only priority was our satisfaction. He went above and beyond by allowing us to cancel and providing a full refund. This kind of integrity and generosity is truly rare, and we are so grateful for his understanding. We are certain that once the heating issue is resolved, this will be a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended for Antonio’s exceptional hospitality alone!

Quiet, rural, lovely host/staff, quick to respond, nice breakfast, good instructions to find it (would have been difficult without it) free parking

We ran low on hot water as it was raining for 2 days (no sun) and it was solar hot water heating.

Amazing views, huge rooms, and a wonderful host. We were leaving for the airport really early and woke to find that Antonio had made us a breakfast to go!

We only stayed for one night ut didn’t see anything we didn’t like.

The host is very friendly, has good taste and it shows that he loves his place and cares for it well.

Maybe its just me, the rooms could use more sound absorbant materials because there was echo inside besides having a very nice large curtain that did some reflection absorbtion and did blackout the light from outside very well. Also one thing that didnt make logical sense to me was that the light switches to the bathroom are on the outside in the walkway, so that when my partner went to the toilet during the night the light woke me up as she opened the door. But I also seen it elsewhere in portugal so maybe its part of local folklore : ) Also another thing, but this is a problem in many places and mybe not well understood is the usage of white or blue light emitting diodes which can possibly alter the sleep cycle. I am in the camp of using only red and darker yellow light frequencies during the night, to not disturb the circadian rythm. I might be wrong but I think its worth studying.
