About this house rental

This guest house is at the center of our 30 acre Gentlemen's ranch, one mile south of Suttons Bay and 1/2 mile from the Bay. The address for our location is 1624 South West Bayshore Drive (which is M-22), Suttons Bay While there is not a water view unless you are on top one of our hills, the setting is an idyllic location with panoramic valley and hill views. This house has a warm natural all wood interior with beautiful artwork, yet all the modern amenities such as wifi and satellite TV with multiple movie channels.
The grounds are professionally landscaped and maintained by the Landscape Architect owner.
There is a large open area that includes a wrap-around leather couch and a loft with two beds along with a separate bedroom with a queen-size bed with an exceptional quality mattress. It is important to note that the only access to the loft is a straight up and down ladder. Because of this if you have kids younger than five or adults older than 40 or so (depending how spry you feel) the loft is probably not for you.
There is plenty of room to park any toys (campers, boats, trailers) right on the property. The owners have a 26 foot motorboat and other water toys, so arrangements could be made for their use. If there is a need to stall your horses, or if you want to ride a horse or two, those arrangements can be made as well.
On the property is a large barn, a small barn (both for horses) along with indoor and outdoor riding arenas. Attached to the indoor riding arena is a viewing area with a pool table, bathroom and laundry.
At night, there is a firepit area to warm up on the cold Northern Michigan nights and we are far enough away from any city so that the panoramic star views are incredible.
We are only 1/2 mile away from the Suttons Bay to Traverse City trail and you could ride bikes/horses snowshoe/hike/cross-country ski in any direction from here and see wonderful water vistas and orchard/hill/valley views.
We are 30 minutes away from the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and the Homestead Resort that has skiing with hills that border on Lake Michigan.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The cottage was clean, cozy, and full of charm, and the setting was beautiful and peaceful. What truly made the experience unforgettable was Debbie. She was incredibly warm, welcoming, and generous with her time. She let our boys (and Chris!) ride the horses in her arena, introduced us to all of the horses, and shared so much about the farm and how everything works. She even invited us to help feed the horses in the morning, which was such a fun and memorable experience for our family. It was the perfect place to relax while still being close to Suttons Bay, wineries, and everything we wanted to explore. We especially loved how peaceful and serene the property felt. Such a unique and special stay—we would gladly come back again!

This stay far surpassed our expectations. The home is on a beautifully maintained horse ranch while being just a quick couple minute drive to town. The owners are more than hospitable, and i will be checking for this home's availability the next time we travel North to Suttons Bay. Highly recommended!

Our family stayed in this great little guest home on a horse farm for our niece's wedding close by. Couldn't have been a better spot for us. Our teenaged boys loved the loft and the grounds were beautiful to take a stroll around when we had a free minute. Host was awesome to deal with and everything was as advertised. We will be back when we visit the area again and hope this rental is available.

We recently returned from a week at Debbie and Jeff's cottage on their farm near the village at Sutton's Bay. It is in a quiet and picturesque location behind the main house and shares a back yard with a fountain and grill with the residence. Pastures and the horse barn are behind the cottage. We counted about a dozen horses on the property. The cottage is very well appointed with a large L shaped leather sofa, easy chair, writing desk and TV equipped with cable in the sitting area. The kitchenette is against a back wall. Track lighting, some of which is controlled by a rheostat, illuminates the kitchenette and living area. The bedroom and bath are through a door in the rear of the cottage. The bed was very comfortable. We were there for a family reunion in Northport, and my brother and sister-in-law occupied the bed in the loft for two nights. The access is up a ladder against the wall that goes straight up. It helps to be in decent condition to make the climb. This is a quibble, however, and we are glad the extra bed in the loft exists. Whoever did the design and renovation of the building did an excellent job. We needed extra refrigerator space because of food prepared for the reunion, and Jeff made available the refrigerator in the spectator area of the horses barn. Both Jeff and Debbie were very attentive to any needs we expressed. We walked to Sutton's Bay one morning, and found the best route is to cross the M-22 by Northern Building supply and follow the road down the drive along the lake shore. If you like burgers and locally brewed beer in a picnic/beer garden setting, stop at the Hop Lot. on M-22 just before town. We would definitely stay again.
