About this apartment rental
There are lofts, and then there is Savannah Riverview. Built in the 1800s as part of a cotton warehouse along the Savannah River, this one-of-a-kind historic loft has survived a major fire, a turn as a vocational school, and more than a century of Savannah history — all to arrive at its current state as one of the most distinctive luxury short-term rentals in the city.
The exposed brick that greets you on the staircase continues throughout the main level. The overhead beams, charred in an early 1900s fire and never replaced, give the space a warmth and character that no renovation could manufacture. This is Savannah's past made livable — and remarkably comfortable.
A private parking space directly in front of the home awaits on arrival — a genuine rarity for a downtown Savannah property this close to the river. Step inside off the street, head up the stairs, and let the views take it from there.
The open kitchen and living room share sweeping views of the Savannah River through large picture windows and French doors that open to a small balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped for a proper home-cooked dinner, though with some of Savannah's best restaurants at the doorstep, reheating leftovers is equally valid. A comfortable linen sleeper sofa and flat-screen TV with cable round out the living room — though the view tends to win.
The primary suite at the front of the home offers a true luxury experience: a queen bed, a dedicated seating area, and a large en-suite bathroom with a separate jetted tub and walk-in shower. After a long day of exploring Savannah, the jetted tub earns its place at the center of the evening plan. The second bedroom is cozier in scale, with a queen bed, bold original artwork, and a large closet. A second full bath with tub/shower combination and generous counter space is located just adjacent — ideal for getting ready for a night on the town.
When the view calls — and it will — head up the extra-wide staircase to the rooftop deck. Sweeping panoramic views of the Savannah River stretch in every direction: First Friday fireworks, 4th of July Celebrations, New Year's festivities on River Street, or a quiet sunset over the water with a glass of wine. There is no better seat in Savannah for any of it.

We loved this place, with only 2 cautions. We really enjoyed the view, and we went to the balcony or roof to see nearly every ship that passed. I got the MarineTraffic app so we knew what was coming and going in advance, and the ships' destinations. Downsides: River Street noise on one side, and extreme Bay Street noise on the other. Ear plugs were essential to be able to sleep. And steep stairs to get to the apartment and the roof are a challenge for impaired folks.

The kitchen was set up for cooking all your meals should you choose to. We didn’t cook because all sorts of restaurants and bars were just steps away. You really don’t need a car, it’s central to everything by foot. Very cool property with stellar views! I would definitely come back again.

The unit location was perfect. The view fromThe balcony was amazing. However, the cleanliness of the unit lacked a lot. There were stains all over the carpet and dust over most of the unit. The furniture on the outdoor patio was so nasty we could not actually use it.
