About this house rental
Our 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 4,300 sq. ft. luxury home is absolutely breathtaking! Perched high above the valley floor and just a short walk to the slopes, it has unobstructed views of the nearly 14,000 foot peaks of the Needles Mountains, the signature range that inspired Jean Claude Killy to describe Purgatory as “the most beautiful scenery this side of the Italian Alps."
Inside the home you will find a 1,200 square foot master retreat on the lower level that includes incredible views of the Needles Mountains from the King bed, two person Jacuzzi tub and shower. The master retreat also includes a two-sided gas fireplace between the bedroom and the Jacuzzi tub, “RO” water, “instant-hot” water, sink and refrigerator. The adjacent bedroom features a queen pull out sofa and work desk. The dressing /vanity area has heated floors and the walk in closet and laundry is the size of the garage bay above. The entry level of the home has two bedrooms (Queen Bed in one and Bunk Beds in the other (single over single) and a full bath (Japanese soaker tub).
The main level offers an enviable gourmet Kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and amazing mountain views. The massive wood burning stone fireplace (firewood provided) extends 25’ to the spectacular structural beams and honed tongue and grove wood ceiling (illuminated for night ambiance). Perfect for entertaining, the great room, dining room and kitchen are all open to a wall of windows and spacious deck to enjoy the amazing alpenglow when the sun hits the peaks of the Needles range. There is a private deck on each of three floors of this incredible home and the deck off the Main Living Space features a BBQ Grill and gas firepit. Take the spiral stair case up to the extraordinary loft which is the 2nd living space which includes a full bathroom, full bar (wine cooler, refrigerator, and dishwasher), TV and a game/ puzzle table and sleeping space.

My family visits Purgatory Ski Resort on a triennial basis for the holiday. This was our first time at the Cantilever Lodge. It surpassed our expectations!The home is huge at ~4,200 sq ft over 4 floors. Lots of stairs, in fact, there are 32 steps from the MBR floor to the main floor. This doesn’t include the top floor spiral staircase which adds another 12 steps. 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Great room that accompanies the dining area and kitchen. The huge wood-burning fireplace is a great touch and focal point. Plenty of seating, beautiful furniture and decor.The Chef’s kitchen is perfect. Not too big or small. High-end quality appliances. Plenty of cookware, utensils, glasses, cups, and specialty items. They also provide spices, coffee, baking items, cookware, you name it, it’s most likely there.Pros: Location close to ski lifts; No highway traffic noise (indoors); oversized garage, great views; luxurious.Cons: Thermostat on main floor is temperamental and very confusing; Lots of stairs!; wall switches everywhere!; MBR shower valve is tricky (turn it to Hot then turn it to Cold and then back to Hot). Elevator was not functional. Bring Fire Starters for the fireplace. Main floor shower needs a thorough cleaning as it looks bad (stained shower floor, glass door, shower head has calcium buildup). Outdoor grill and fire pit were out of propane gas.We will return in the future and are already looking forward to it!
