About this house rental

No one who visits isn't left for words.. Four bedrooms, two on the main level and two up, plus four full baths make for an easy share situation for family or couples.
The house is a product of our imaginations and skill levels.

This has been our home since the early 90's. It was a bit cramped and "tired" when we bought it but we expanded as our boys grew. We are happy to share it now so that others can feel the the "ahhhh..." as you drive down the curvy driveway. We live in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by friends of over 30 years we are really sensitive to noise limits. WE STRICTLY ENFORCE A 10:00 OUTDOOR NOISE CURFEW. We hope you understand.

The following events have minimum stays.
Spring and Fall Furniture Market 4 nights.
WFU Graduation 4 nights.
WFU Homecoming 3 nights
Thanksgiving 4 nights
Christmas 4 nights.

Our outdoor porch is a lovely place to gather. We do ask that you keep the volume low out here as the topography really makes voices travel. We are in a quiet neighborhood so we like to be respectful of our neighbors. We have a small fire pit on the porch as well. Do be careful. We have a fireplace in the living room (currently it is not operable due to chimney issues) and wood stove in the kitchen which we have just discovered to have an issue with the chimney. Old houses!!! We have a gas grill. The yard is large and rambling. Do keep and eye on your children.

***NO WEDDINGS OR EVENTS MAY BE HOSTED HERE. QUIET FAMILIES WELCOME. THANK YOU.
***SPECIAL REQUEST: Please, no perfumes, hairspray, or scented candles indoors - homeowner is sensitive to smells. !If you must use these products, please do so outdoors. Thank you.
***We are dog friendly please ask us about our pet deposit policy.

This was our second time staying here - the second time was even better than the first: the house is a little bit like seeing an old friend! It’s comforting and familiar and so welcoming - the house, itself, is magical, and its proximity to so many lovely things in Winston-Salem, while somehow maintaining an illusion of being in its own world, makes for a really lovely trip. You can do and see everything you want and then retreat to a warm, winding house. It’s wonderful!

Very cool and eclectic interior. We spent most of our time in the kitchen or sleeping. This was a terrific house.

It was such a delight to stay in this wonderful love- and fun-filled home. We all fell head-over-heels for the home and property! Every little detail is perfect and so very special. There is beauty, creativity, and treasures everywhere you look! Convenient location, lots of amazing indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, everything you could ever need, and so much to see and do! We enjoyed every minute and hope to come back! We also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely and talented owners and learning more about the property's history and the many special memories made there over the years. We enjoyed every minute and hope to come back!

Yes, this house has excellent bones . It is well suited to large gatherings and entertaining . The esthetic is charming and has a lovely bohemian vibe. The beds are comfortable . We also rented a cottage on the property and it was pristine . However, this is mitigated by poor maintance and a tremendous amount of personal clutter. Closets, refrigerator, surfaces and cupboards were filled with the owners possessions so despite ample space we had to live out of our suitcases. Dusty, dirty porches demanded cleaning though we could do little to improve the mildewed seat cushions . The grill was filthy . Towels were sour . Essentially , we felt the owners packed an ovenite bag and left the premises exactly as they lived in it. The owners granted our request for a 12pm checkout but returned unexpectedly at 10:30 causing guests enjoying coffee in their Pjs to flee to pack ASAP. A little extra care would go a long way to making this an exceptional VRBO rental.
