Soak in a vintage clawfoot tub in a 100-year-old Spanish-Revival casita, your private Southern California holiday hideaway. Casita Gundry is a lovingly restored guest house in Long Beach's tree-lined California Heights Historic District, blending a century of character with today's comforts. With its own private entrance and garden patio, it's a tranquil tiny sanctuary whether you're here for a work trip, a family getaway, or a SoCal adventure. It's perfect for guests who love cozy, boutique spaces. No cleaning fees.
THE SPACE
- Restored vintage clawfoot soaker tub with shower combo
- Full kitchenette, AC/heat, walk-in closet, and private in-unit laundry
- Streaming TVs with local channels in each bedroom
- Three genuinely comfortable mattresses, sleeps 1–3 adults comfortably (max occupancy 5, though a full house may feel snug)
- Second bedroom is a flexible sitting room
- Private garden patio with grill, ideal for al fresco meals, morning coffee, and evening drinks (there's no living room or indoor dining area, so the patio is your communal dining room under the sky)
- Two driveway parking spaces (tandem, uncovered) exclusively for guests

Property and owners were lovely, and just as advertised. Safe, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of delicious coffee shops and restaurants, a park, and all the amenities anyone might need. It was like a home away from home for our family.

Casita Gundry is the absolute best home away from home and one of my favorite staycation spots in Southern California. Lars offers so many thoughtful touches to enhance each stay, from local pastries, eggs, and homemade cookies awaiting me at check-in to a spacious bathtub caddy with room for a book and a (provided) scented candle to helpful recommendations of local restaurants and hangouts. The space itself is super cozy, and I love having the private outdoor patio to enjoy. Casita Gundry reminds me of hotel rooms in Japan, where everything has its spot and anything you could need has been considered, whether that's a citronella candle for the outdoor table or creamer for the provided coffee or extra little fold out tables tucked away by the front door. I'll always return whenever I get the chance, don't hesitate to book if you're able!
