Jan 2026 The caretakers are the most friendly people you will come across. The breakfast was amazing. We chose Sri Lankan style, and both morning it was beyond any place one could find such breakfast food. Although their English wasn’t fluent at all, they made it up with their care and willingness to accommodate. The location with regards to view is very beautiful. Most rooms looks out on the lake, but all on the hills. Internet was fast (if you were in the right room, but nevertheless)

As many others noted: accessibility, it’s hard for drivers to reach, but our driver was rather skilled with the Toyota HiAce. There is a bridge in the making which should make it much easier and would be finished in a couple of weeks. Maybe others might not have found this an issue in the future. Water pressure is very low, especially hot water. We suggested they offer a bucket with a scoop, which would make the bathing/showering experience much better. Cold: this is something I ignored others saying, but I should have paid more attention. The wind on this hill will go through the building, so it’s not very good at keeping the heat in. So unfortunately it was around 12 degrees Celsius outside, and it means 15 degrees inside. So I would advise you to think fo yourself what temperatures you are willing to bear. In some ways the owner should accommodate this, but I have read too many reviews sharing this that it’s really our own fault. So please don’t come here when it’s cold, especially evening (just add 3 degrees to the outside temperate at all times) Although these are rather major issues with regards to the price of the place, the experience was totally made up for by the caretakers’ hospitality.

Great views from Dining Room/Living Area. Wonderful hosting - nothing was too difficult including tuk-tuking us to and from the property when our vehicle could not reach it.

We had a truly wonderful experience thanks to the exceptional care provided by the caretaker and his wife. From the moment we arrived, they looked after us with genuine warmth and hospitality, always ready to assist without the slightest hesitation. Their kindness, attentiveness, and welcoming nature made us feel completely at home. It was clear they take great pride in ensuring guests are comfortable and well taken care of. We’re truly grateful for their efforts and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-cared-for stay.

We visited Nuwara Eliya from July 19 to 22, 2025, and during our stay, the area experienced unusually heavy rain, mist, and dense fog. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, we were unable to enjoy the beautiful views outside the bungalow — everything was completely obscured. The bungalow itself didn't seem designed to withstand such damp and chilly conditions. The interior felt extremely cold and damp, and without any heating system in place, it was difficult to stay warm. The beds were especially cold and uncomfortable, and our children had trouble sleeping because of the low temperatures. However, what truly made a difference during our stay was the incredible warmth and kindness of the caretaker and his wife. Despite the difficult weather, they looked after us with genuine care and without hesitation. Their hospitality and attentiveness helped to offset the discomfort we felt due to the weather. In many ways, their support became the highlight of our stay, and we’re deeply grateful for the way they took care of us.
