Sterling Shores is under renovation for a beautification project in which they are working on all balconies and walkways to the condos. Due to this beautification process, one pool closest to the building may close in November very briefly. No other amenities will be affected. Renovations are currently in progress Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The renovation is set to be finished by 1/29/2026. If bad weather interferes with the beautification process, renovations could continue into February. If there are any updates, I will let you know. We have blocked down the units that are primarily affected by this construction. June-Labor Day is painting the exterior and should not cause much of a disturbance. After Labor Day, you may experience floor grinding noise and dust. We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and we hope you enjoy your stay!

This Gulf-facing condo is part of Sterling Shores, a complex that sits just across Scenic Highway 98 from the beach. You'll be only a mile west of great hiking, picnicking, and fishing at Henderson Beach State Park, and two miles west of fantastic shopping and dining at Destin Commons. Spend a day at Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park just one mile up the road, and come home to choose from a variety of dining options within a few minutes' drive.
THINGS TO KNOW
Construction is 8-5, 7 days a week. Beginning Monday, October 20, 2025, the Lagoon Pool will be closed for approximately 3 weeks to have it resurfaced. We are hopeful to have it back up and running by November 10, 2025. Free Wifi, Full Kitchen
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

The home had everything we needed. We stay at Sterling Shores every year. There’s a candy store and ice cream shop within walking distance, the pool is great, and the Back Porch is also within walking distance. Will be back again in a year.

The room and the overall property was quite nice but it was overshadowed by the fact that it accommodates WAY more people than what can comfortably fit on the small narrow beach.
The umbrellas are crammed in so tight they create a barrier between the water and the beach - only way to access the water is to squeeze under other people's umbrellas which is awkward and frustrating. And the whole front row was reserved in advance so we always ended up in the back where you really can't even see the beach very well.
One night we went to enjoy the pool but no one had turned on the lights and there was a group with beer bottles lined along the pool edge, blasting mariachi music so loud we could not enjoy ourselves so we just went back to the room.
One thing we did really like was the no smoking on property. Other places we've stayed we've had problems with second hand smoke in the pool, on the beach, or from neighboring balconies but we did not experience that here!
We'd probably consider returning IF it weren't for the very disappointing overcrowded beach experience.
