NOMAD - Luxe apartment

We stayed 2 nights for our wedding anniversary - We also stayed at Nomad 7 years ago for our honeymoon, and it was every bit as amazing as we remembered. Highly recommend to anyone!

As so many have said, this is a beautifully decorated and really well equipped apartment - they really have thought of everything. It's a gem. Unfortunately the Mantra is truly daggy. The entrance from Macrossan St is sort of a 2-star motel entrance and the lift was full of builders rubble (to be fair they did clear it up somewhat). The pool area looks nice from the apartment but is pretty tired really. None of this takes away from the fact that NOMAD is a lovely place to stay if you're not there for the pool etc. It's well located in the centre of town and if you're not snobby about lifts and staircases then it's great and we'd certainly recommend it. It's lovely to come back to comfortable lounge areas (fantastic day bed), loads of crockery and cutlery, a comfortable bed and a nicely appointed bathroom. There isn't a dining table though, just a small table outside. Also, we take our own lights with us nowadays because so many places have poor lighting. You don't have to worry in NOMAD because it's really nicely lit. The Samsung Frame TV is a nice touch too.

The very tired Mantra entrance, lifts, staircases and corridors take away from the luxury experience quite a lot. Very 'old Australia'. Not really a good experience until you get into the apartment. Also, the key locker is really quite difficult to operate. I'm quite handy and a CTO of a technology company and it took us about 5 minutes to get it open, both when we arrived and when we dropped the keys back.

Truly had everything you could want, the owners have thought of everything. Perfectly quiet despite being in the middle of the main street. Access to gorgeous pool area also.

Location

Over priced! Old condo. Much better value nearby. Owners personable half used kitchen spices and cooking ingredients fill the cabinets and smell dated. They should be removed and streamlined for quest use only. Parking your car, and unloading your luggage are 2 blocks away from each other! Very inconvenient! The small shower head is in a large bath tub built for 3 people with a 2 foot wall surrounding it. You have to climb in and out of the tub to shower. Dangerous! The bathroom DEFINITELY needs a remodel. The condo is a throw back to the 70’s found in Palm Springs. Unfortunately, it’s stuck back in the 70’s. It’s a nice concept if it were updated for modern necessities.
