Very strange "kitchen" with a stove put on top of what was a bar and is extremely high. No extraction hood so its mpossible to cook. Bathroom without window or extraction fan. Constant noise right outside the door. The ad says the owner speaks French and English but they don't speak a word of English. We did not see the super well equipped place mentioned in other reviews. We do not recommend this place.

Our patron is a very friendly and warm person. We felt well soon. This hermitage is nice prepared. Lights on all tables outside the house and on the frontdoor when the dark comes. Very cosy.

A lovely stay

A lovely stay

The gite is a great place to base a stay as it is right on the France/Belgian border. The accommodation is very spacious and has everything you need. The supplies of coffee, orange juice and beer to start us off were a lovely touch. Madame Henrard was very helpful and was available at all times if we needed help. Having the outside terrace was a real bonus in the hot weather. We would thoroughly recommend the gite to anyone.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The lounge/dinette was spacious and there was lots of storage space in the bathroom. It was very convenient for walking and cycling round the beautiful Lake d'Escault and we were able to store our bikes out of sight in a shed. The host was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed at the Hermitage for 1 week from June 30th 2017 with our dog Billy. The place was extremely well equipped and Claudie had left drinks tea coffee and much more for us. It was very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Claudie and her husband were most helpful. Close to amenities including supermarkets, and shops for essentials such as bread. Conde is beautiful fantastic walks.

The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful from the day we enquired about this property. Emails were answered very promptly, helpful with information regarding vet appointment etc. The gite is extremely well-equipped for cooking, dining, relaxing. It was always warm and hot water constant. The bed is comfortable and shower very good. A lot of little extras were provided e.g. fruit juice, beer, milk, mineral water, also a choice of coffee machines with coffee for each supplied. Shampoo and shower-gel were provided, and all items needed for dish washing, washing machine etc. The gite is very clean and well maintained. There is a local supermarket 10 minutes walk away (open all day Sunday and serving roasted chickens!) an Aldi supermarket 15 minutes walk away. Ten minutes further on is a beautiful lake and park with paths to walk round, plenty of bird life etc. Carrefour supermarket is just a bit further, on the outskirts of the town centre. Just opposite the gite is a huge forest with plenty of walks, especially beautiful when we visited late October. A short walk towards Bon-Secours brings you to Chateau l'Hermitage. From here you soon cross the Belgian border. There are many interesting places to visit - recommend Mons and Ascenseur Strepy-Thieu for a good day out. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Ce gîte est excellent : bien aménagé, très très bien équipé, les propriétaires habitent juste à côté et sont très accueillants et très amicales. Réactifs, avec des idées de promenade et autre. Absolument adorables! La route devant le gîte est passante mais honnêtement cela ne dérange en rien, on n'entend rien mais surtout cela permet d'être proche de toutes les activités principales autour. Une petite pépite, un petit coup de cœur. À recommander si vous cherchez un gîte dans ce coin.

J'ai passé 3 semaines au gîte de l'Hermitage dans le cadre d'une cure thermale. Les photos sont conformes à la réalité. Le gîte est spacieux, confortable et effectivement il n' y a qu'à poser ses valises ! Les propriétaires sont accueillants, bienveillants et discrets. Condé sur Lescault est une très jolie commune fortifiée avec la forêt de Bonsecours et son étang Chabaud-Latour qui est un ancien affaissement minier propice aux grandes promenades dans ce cadre atypique. La Belgique est à 2 km, Mons et Tournai sont aussi très proches... L'éloignement de la cure de 15 km vaut vraiment le déplacement ; il m'était vraiment agréable de rentrer comme "chez moi" après les soins et de profiter de tout cet espace naturel.

Nous avons été très agréablement surpris par cette location, vous arrivez, vous avez plus qu'à poser vos valises. Tout était prévue pour nous accueillir, produits de toilettes, de cuisines etc etc. Nous recommandons cette location les yeux fermés. Propriétaires très agréables et à l écoute des vacanciers. Encore merci, nous reviendrons sans problème.
