Available Space

Ocean front home (2 persons) + Casita (2 persons) can be booked together. Contact us if the casita is to be included!

Made from shipping containers, Box House Boca Ciega is an open concept with the kitchen, living area, and studio-like bedroom flowing together. The home's design and fixtures give it a modern urban feel, while the minimal decor keeps the space uncluttered and bright with just a hint of Texas and Belizean flair in the native hardwood cabinets.

The kitchen has full-size stainless steel appliances (stove top only, no oven), concrete countertops, and is fully stocked with small appliances and everything needed for cooking and eating in. A breakfast bar with stools serves as the home's dining area. The living area offers a full-size sofa bed and television. The studio-like bedroom has a king-size bed, closet space, and television. The private bathroom is next to the bedroom, as is a large extra closet. The bathroom is modern with a concrete vanity counter top, toilet, and roomy tiled stand-up shower. The flooring throughout the home is the original preserved shipping container floor with rivets and all. A washer/dryer is located behind closed doors in a pantry area beside the kitchen.

The home's elevation from the ground only enhances the already stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. It doesn't matter which part of the home you are in, the floor-to-ceiling patio doors practically bring the outdoors inside! Open all the patio doors leading to the veranda and let the sea breezes blow through the house. If you prefer air conditioning, it's available. An east-facing veranda, the entire width of the home, is ideal for sunrise views.

The casita is situated right behind the main house and offers a queen bed, a kitchen and a bathroom. The room has AC and a ceiling fan, and there is a deck with seating outside. The casita is an add-on and must be booked through a separate listing.

Please note: All docks on the island are public from 6 am to 6 pm.

Our concierge service can assist you with your domestic (Belize) travel and tours/excursions. If you are traveling from the mainland to Ambergris Caye/San Pedro by water taxi, we can arrange for your ground transportation from the international airport in Belize City (BZE) to the water taxi terminal and have your water taxi tickets waiting for you. If traveling by air, we can book your flight from BZE to San Pedro. Golf carts are the main mode of transportation on Ambergris Caye/San Pedro and are perfect for exploring the island. We can make a golf cart reservation for you so your cart is waiting for you upon arrival.

Activities on Ambergris Caye/San Pedro are definitely water-related as Belize has the second-largest barrier reef in the world! There are snorkel and scuba diving trips just a short boat ride from shore. Flats fly fishing, reef fishing, or deep sea fishing can be booked for half or full-day trips. Kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis, kite boards, windsurfers, and bicycles can be rented by the hour. You can spend hours beach combing and stopping for cool beverages up and down the coast at a multitude of beach bars. Many beach bars have live local music to entertain you. Get a birds-eye view of the island and turquoise blue waters by parasailing or even book a helicopter tour. If spending a relaxing day on the water aboard a catamaran or sailboat excites you, we are happy to coordinate. There's even a casino on the island if you're feeling lucky! We can also schedule on-site services such as massage and a private chef.

If you want a different type of adventure, you may want to visit the mainland and be welcomed by the jungle! We can help coordinate transportation to the mainland from Ambergris Caye/San Pedro and a whole list of activities - Belize Zoo, ancient Mayan sites, cave tubing, zip lining, baboon sanctuary, hiking, rappelling, waterfalls, horseback riding, pontoon boating, butterfly farm, botanical garden, golfing.

Although most areas on the island are connected to electricity, water, and internet, please be aware that there are occasional interruptions in service.

Great place to stay if you’re looking to get away from the crowds. The host was amazing and responsive to our messages during our day. The food in San Pedro is amazing and you can’t get a bad meal on the island! One of our favorite places to eat, ended up being the hula bar, which is less than five minutes away from the house and has amazing chicken tacos! The views from the house are picturesque and you can’t beat them. The pier is private and we enjoyed sun tanning on it during our stay. The only downside is the beach isn’t really conducive to walking as there is quite a bit of seaweed that comes up in that area. Plenty of other beaches on the island to get to easily so it wasn’t an issue for us. We loved taking day trips up to secret beach and enjoying the water on that side of the island. I would recommend flying into Belize and staying there for a couple of days first to do some tours if that’s something that you’re interested in and then taking an inner island flight over to San Pedro for the rest of your stay. The cost to get back-and-forth from Belize to San Pedro can add up for excursions if you don’t do it that way. I would highly recommend getting a golf cart reservation through the property manager as we had issues when we booked through a third-party company and ended up having to get a golf cart through the property manager at the last minute. The property is easy to get in and out of and very comfortable!

Perfect spot to stay and explore the island. Set south of town, this place is the perfect way to have relaxing evenings outside the busier san pedro. Short golf cart ride to anywhere (make sure you rent one, you'll need it). Beautiful property with all the amenities you'd need. Host was very responsive and helpful. Wonderful stpot to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset (in February, anyway). Stop looking and just book this one, you won't regret it!

This is a great place to stay in San Pedro! The house was clean and had some wonderful air conditioning. The host was also very helpful, providing us with many options to improve our experience should we need it.

We found the Box House very cool and unique. We really liked the layout and it was quite comfortable. We also liked the fact that it was in a quieter area away from town. That being said, there are a few things that should be addressed: 1, when we arrived, we found the grounds and landscaping clean and well maintained. However when we went to walk out to the dock, we found the area between the property and the water line completely filled with trash, and garbage. There was also trash (empty beer and water bottles) at the end of the dock. We were disgusted! I cannot believe a company would feel that it is okay to rent a property in this condition. No other surrounding properties were like this. 2, the photos on Vrbo show two nice Adirondack chairs out at the end of the dock. These did not exist. 3, the photos also show two nice chaise lounge chairs on the sand. These also did not exist. 4, I did see (after the fact) that the dock was public between 6am and 6pm. This proved to be quite an issue as every time we were hoping to use the dock to enjoy the sunset, there was some couple out there having a makeout session. In addition, there were no beach chairs to take out to the dock if we wished to do so. 5, correspondence said that there was a phone to make local calls. After looking everywhere, we could not locate this phone. In the end, it was a bit of a disappointment. The property has so much potential. I hope they can address these issues for future guests.
