My host was wonderful: warm, generous and genuinely welcoming. I was so grateful to be upgraded to the family suite, a kind gesture that made my solo stay feel even more special. The room was spotless and peaceful, with soft linens, fluffy towels, and a bathroom with a freestanding tub that made for a perfect long soak. Breakfast was incredible: fresh fruit with yoghurt, roasted vegetables, perfectly scrambled eggs and bacon, a flaky croissant, crumpets and artisan bread, all served with care. The hospitality here is exceptional. Thank you for giving me the space to rest and reset. I'll be back, and I'll happily recommend Maddies to anyone seeking a quiet escape.

Maddies is a lovely B&B located just outside of Maitland run by Alison. The home is set in a lovely garden with water features. While it is on a main road I found it to be very quiet. I stayed in the Paterson Room at the front of the house, which was very comfortable. The bedroom was lovely and likewise the adjacent sitting room, which led outdoors to a small private courtyard. The Continental Breakfast was nice and Alison went to the trouble of preparing a light cooked meal of poached egg garnished with tasty lightly roasted vegetables.

Not that it was an issue for me but guests need to be aware that Maddies also hosts events on site so you're not alone at the B&B.

A charming, comfortable, spotlessly clean property with a very tasty breakfast. Our hosts were helpful and welcoming. A lovely stay.
