The cottage was freezing cold when we arrived. Despite the heatpump being kindly left on. We arrived after dark and it was a very cold evening. The cottage had a few oil heaters in cupboards which we found. And eventually we adjusted the heatpump to a setting which worked. It took some time before the cottage was heated. We went to bed cold.

It is in such a beautiful setting. We will definitely come back in the summer time. Once the heating was on the house was tasty warm, all the essentials are here and we didn’t have to search for anything. Room sizes were great and we loved the cuteness of the cottage.
We struggled a bit with the tv remote control (potentially the batteries need replacing), and the electric blanket in the master room didn’t heat up, but apart from that the property is amazing!

Great cottage with everything we needed. It was a very cold couple of days but the cottage was warm and cosy. The views and surroundings made the visit very special.
Loved the secret path into town. Much nicer than having to walk on the main road
Silly thing really. But it would be nice to have another heated towel rail. One rail for 4 towels does not really work

Fab view of Akoroa bay and nice peaceful garden setting. Cosy for winter visits. Free shared clothes washing and drying facilities.
Hopefully just one off but several minor issues; rubbish under bed, microwave grubby, couple of light bulbs not working. no milk provided along with the tea and coffee ( as even cheap motels do) felt bit unwelcoming. This all let down what would otherwise have been a fantastic cottage.
