It really needed central heating and heater in the bathroom and a couple of comfortable chairs would have made a big difference the boiler for the rest of the building was in the bathroom and was very noisy all the time. Bar/restaurant were closed that week and we weren’t informed beforehand

Nice enough room

Not enough thought gone in to what is required in a self contained room, no info for wi-fi, how to work the heating, essential components required for a stay, simple things like where you can walk to from the accomodation, maps etc. The property is part of the Bodnant Estate which tells you there are plenty of walks around thebestate but not one piece of info to get youbon a trail or track.

The room was clean and the bed was really comfy. The selection of teas were very nice. The building was a lovely stone farmhouse in beautiful location, but felt unoccupied and lonesome.

The way the advertisement on Booking.com was written led me to believe that breakfast was included in the price, I did get an email saying it wasn't shortly before I travelled. I was traveling for work, phoned to say I would be arriving late, and was told how to find the accommodation. However the site was gloomy and the motion activated lights in the courtyard only worked when you drew alongside them, so a bit unnerving trying to find accommodation in large deserted complex. Didn't know my room was on the second floor, and it took me quite a long time to realise I had to head through a small firedoor and up yet another flight of stairs ( I know, I am a prat). The place felt empty and lonesome. I live on a remote hill farm and am used to walking the fields alone at night dealing with livestock, I am also used to travelling as a solo woman so not often unnerved, haha!. Just could have done with clear signs for the accommodation and for the rooms at top of house! Soap and shower gel dispensers didn't work. Sorry to leave a negative review, the complex must be lovely during the summer. Tiny room would have been worth it with a bit of breakfast included, even just toast!

Cute room in the attic - as a single traveller, I was in a single room, which was cosy and on a landing with just the two rooms. A lovely touch was the fruit (an apple and a banana) alongside the crisps and small batch shortbread biscuits. Plenty of tea and coffee, and the tea pot, bowl, side plate and cutlery made my brought in brekkie a breeze. The staff were welcoming and I got the impression that they would've done what they could to meet my needs, so the negative side of this review isn't directed at them. I didn't give them a chance to amend anything - as it wasn't a huge problem for me, just an observation.

The small room meant there was no table and chair, nor bedside table. I wasn't expecting a dining table, but there's normally somewhere to sit in a hotel room... But the absence of a bedside table meant I couldn't even sit in bed and drink/eat. I had to sit on the floor. Which is fine for me, but not ideal. The shower had black mould and grime on the grouting. Now, I know how difficult it is to keep things spotless, but I rubbed at the mould and am reasonably confident that I could get it off with some bleach and a brush. So... What's their excuse?

Lovely quiet location, with beautiful views of the river and the valley. As well as the B&B on site, there is a cafe, farm-shop, cookery school, and lush restaurant. The place is underrated. They need to upgrade signage on the main road, to really advertise what is available on site, for the passing tourists, because the food alone is so worth a detour. The food - breakfast at the Furnace cafe & dinner at They Hayloft - both absolutely delicious. Lemon posset was sinfully delicious, the stake cooked to perfection, oh the breakfast with local sausages scrumptious. We only stayed for a long weekend, but I tried to make my way through as many items on the breakfast menu as possible. With both of these facilities available on site, we didn't have to wonder into town for dinner, which was perfect. Lovely atmosphere in the bar and the Hayloft restaurant. The staff was ever so helpful and polite. Most importantly to us, absolutely love the fact that the place is almost entirely dog friendly. I was able to take my little furball with me for breakfast and dinner, without having to leave him in the room. Bodnant Gardens are 5 minutes drive around the corner, so perfect - as also dog friendly. We spent a whole day there wondering around. It might be a B&B but with all those facilities on site the place felt more like a hotel. Oh, you absolutely have to pop into the farm shop and get some Welsh Cakes first thing in the morning, when they're still warm. I ate all mine on the way home, well, actually within 10 minutes of getting in the car.

Please consider allowing small dogs into the farm-shop. I appreciate the concern about food contamination, however in Italy dogs are allowed in special trolleys. In UK certian shops allow small dogs provided they can be carried. So I'd like to suggest for small dogs, to allow them to enter provided they are in a doggy carrier/stroller, which would keep them away from food. Especially helpful to single travellers. Got to sort out that signage on the main road. It's a missed opportunity. The current simple signs saying Bodnant Welsh Food do not do the place justice. In the small rooms, consider removing one of the side cabinets and substituting that with a chair instead & hang the lamp on the wall. It would create more usable space. Last but not least, would be awesome to have USB / USBC sockets in the room. If you're a numb*ts customer like me who forgot the plug for my gadgets... I got stuck :-). One of those 21st century luxuries we like. Small change would make big difference. I’m just an opinionated customer who likes things a certain way. All that said I had a fabulous stay and will definitely look to come back. I loved the food, loved the location, loved the 99% dog friendly vibe.

The room was disappointing. It felt tired and was not as clean as it should have been. It was a good size but the lack of attention to detail let it down hugely.

Room was great. Clean, tidy and welcoming. Small touches like biscuits and crisps.

Nowhere to eat after 8:30pm in my case. The restaurant closed after I had arrived and been for a shower. Also breakfast didn’t start until 9am which for me (and I suspect others) is quite late.

Fabulous room in a gorgeous, quiet location away from everyone. Lots of nice touches including free crisps and bottled water in the room. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, and staff were charming. Great farm shop on site.

For a food-driven venue, evening meals are not available on Mondays or Tuesdays, which needs to be made much clearer when booking. Luckily, we had time to drive into Conwy and find a supermarket to make ourselves a 'picnic tea' or we would have gone hungry.

Bar and restaurant closed too early. We arrived around 7:30pm. Had to rush to eat before the kitchen closed. And then again before the bar closed. The food wasn’t particularly well executed. Rather than a free breakfast you get a voucher for a set value to use in an onsite cafe. The cafe for breakfast didn’t start until later than I expected so we had to wait for it to open for 30 minutes. If you choose a coffee and a cooked breakfast it is enough. If you like to have some juice and a couple of coffees to get started it wouldn’t cover that.

Staff were friendly.

Unfortunately the property is difficult to find. Although not far from Bodnant Gardens it is on a different road and sat nav doesn't take you there. Most unfortunate was finding the loo in our room blocked but we were moved to another better room and given a couple of free glasses of brandy! The staff were very apologetic. Our room was not cleaned during our two night stay.

The food was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was clean and tidy.

Breakfast not available until 9am when the coffee shop opened. On our booking we said we’d arrive by 5pm. At 3.45 I got a phone call to say the farm shop was closing at 4 and they had our room key. They left it in the bar for us. Not really a problem but unnecessary hassle

We loved staying at Bodnant Welsh Food: you’re out of town but between the tea shop, food shop and restaurant, you have everything right there. The accommodation feels newly done, everything very clean. Tea and shortbread, snacks and glass bottles of water in the room, I felt well cared for.

Despite being in the country, there weren’t any public footpaths. We could see the bay/estuary which seemed like you could walk there, but apparently not. It’s a small thing and it didn’t bother us too much.

Great location - arrived late and in the dark - special thanks to staff who rescued us in car park and guided us to the room!

It’s not really set up for overnight stays. The rooms are nice, but the rest of the set-up isn’t operated to serve guests. For example, breakfast isn’t until 9am - which feels like lunchtime for an early riser. The fact that it sells itself on food led us to believe the restaurant would be fantastic, it was nice enough, but nothing special. The dessert was terrible. Also, I think the fact the some earrings we left behind on the bedside table couldn’t be located when we called back has definitely left a cloud over our stay. They weren’t lost, they were placed in plain sight and forgotten. Not great

If I had to say anything, purely based on how extensive and good the tea bag selection in the room was; maybe instead of sachets of instant nescafe they could put some coffee bags or a cafetiere and ground coffee. Also there is absolutely nothing they can do about this but just in case a light sleeper is reading this, maybe bring earplugs because its an ancient building and you will hear other guests moving about

Nice location, shame about the food, the lighting is unmissable (but not in a good way).

They serve breakfast only from 09:00, which is useless for anyone making a start on the day at a normal time. Supper is in theory available at the restaurant, but at 18:00 the staff surveyed the rather empty room and declared that all the reservations have gone and no tables are available. (They closed shortly afterwards.) The reality is that the place caters for the daytime trade and overnight guests are out of luck. When in the room one lies on the bed, and soon notices that the emergency light in the ceiling cannot be switched off. Whilst it is a nice enough place I will be looking around for somewhere better at this price next time. A pity as the gardens next door really are an excellent walk.

We liked the location. Rosemary room was lovely. Nice and quiet place, perfect for rest and family holiday.

Restaurant garden tables were dirty and we had to clean them to be able to had our drinks and food.

The room was very small but okish for a couple of nights. Unfortunately the Bar and Restaurant were closed even though it was mid August. The breakfast was extremely disappointing - looked and tasted as if it had been cooked the night before and heated up (we were the first ones in the café when it opened). We were booked in for a second night but left after breakfast.

Cobwebs above and around the bed made a very uncomfortable night. The bed also felt very damp. Eyes nose and throat all itchy from sleeping there, the headboard needs a good hoovering. There was nothing to do when the restaurant closed at 9pm so headed back to the room and the TV constantly froze and was unwatchable

The breakfast was excellent. Piping hot, served quickly by lovely staff. The location is stunning. A view of the river and a little adventure play area for my granddaughter. The windows from lavender cottage were like a picture postcard. The complimentary food and coffee was a lovely touch, with a cafetière in the room.

There were multiple spiders and cobwebs in the room which I needed to catch and remove before my granddaughter could sleep. I know the location is rural but I also live in the countryside and need to manage the little visitors daily. Maybe you need to allow your cleaning staff more time, and a ladder, to relocate them. Or leave the long handled spider catchers in the room for guests, so they don’t need to climb on Chairs. Other than that, the bathroom and beds etc were very clean.
