Middlehead Cottages

Our second visit. We’ve stayed in The Old Farmhouse, which suits us 3 adults perfectly. We love the cosy interior, with plenty of space in the lounge, separate dining room, and lovely kitchen. The very private enclosed garden is a great spot to sit and relax in the peace and quiet. The hot tub was a treat; we spent so much time in it. The grounds are stunning to wander around. The small lake is lovely with great views of the surrounding forest. We love the location, with stunning countryside drives; at times on unpaved farm tracks! I found it stunning to drive around; just don’t rush, be prepared to take the time to enjoy the scenery! We loved popping into Pickering for a walk around the lovely small town and stopping for a spot of lunch. But both evenings we happily catered for ourselves in the well equipped kitchen; eating in the lovely dining room. All in all, we love it here and will definitely be returning.

Not anything to dislike really

This is our 2nd stay. The cottage is immaculate with everything you need. The garden is lovely and having a hot tub with a view is beautiful. We love the location of the cottage for walks and the pubs in the area.

There is nothing we don’t like about it. But we would recommend a hook on the back door to keep it open and plastic wine/beer glasses for using outside (we bring our own) and in the hot tub (there’s only child type tumblers).

Property was well equipped and extremely clean. Milk, bread and butter on arrival which was such a lovely touch as well as logs for the fire. Lovely garden area for dogs and children to play and a lovely view onto the fishing lake. Hosts were welcoming and available if needed. Would definitely return.
