Villa with private pool on the hills of the Tuscan Maremma in the bay opposite the island of Elba
This Tuscan villa is 300 square meters, in a quiet location on a wooded with large pine and cypress hill, overlooking the sea and the island of Elba and an 18-hole golf course.
The Tyrrhenian coast with its secular pine woods is just 4 km away in a straight line, so that you can enjoy the view of the island of Elba from the house. Many beautiful sandy beaches - as Cala Violina, Cala Martina, Punta Ala and many others - with crystal clear, clean seawater are only 10 - 15 minutes by car. The marinas of Scarlino and Punta Ala are nearby and offer the opportunity to charter boat trips to the many islands off the coast.
The golf club "Toscana" and the walking distance from Punta Ala in 15 minutes by car. The untouched nature of this area is ideal for long walks, mountain biking, trekking and horse riding.
Numerous nearby medieval villages and towns such as Massa Marittima, Scarlino, Gavorrano, Castiglione della Pescaia, Siena, Volterra, Montalcino, Grosseto and many other historical sites there are many interesting cultural and culinary excursions. For wine connoisseurs are famous wineries such as Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Le Mortelle of Antinori, Rocca di Frassinello, L'Argentiera, etc. in the area and can be visited.
In Follonica you find all sorts of shops and a large market every Friday.
Around the house is a spacious veranda where you can dine in shady coolness on the large front porch, relax and enjoy the magnificent panorama. There is a large dining table and a cozy sitting area, a barbecue and deck chairs. In neat, framed by majestic pine trees garden,
protected by a large laurel hedge, with many plants and flowers is a beautiful pool with a terracotta floor, deck chairs and parasol.
The interior is elegantly equipped with antiques and very comfortable. On the ground floor to get through the large windows in the living room with antique, open fireplace and the dining room with antique marble table. From there you walk through an ancient door in a bedroom with two beds and an en-suite bathroom with tub / shower. Next door is located, with access to the back porch, the fully stocked kitchen with large storage room and a toilet with washing machine.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom with tub / shower, and a large twin room with a large gallery with two more beds and a en-suite bathroom with tub / shower. This very cozy bedroom is the favorite of children.
All bedrooms and the kitchen are equipped with ceiling fans and mosquito nets.
For cooler days, there is a heating throughout the house and a large open fireplace in the living area.

Paola was a wonderful host. Her brother Carlo was a delight. The property was immaculate. It was difficult to find because it is in the country up a dirt road but well worth the trip. It is a 10 minute drive to the nearest town. My only comment is the the microwave appliance and directions were in German and the only coffee maker was a French press. You pay for the use of the gas at the end of the stay for heating etc. This was an unexpected charge.All in all we had a fabulous time.

Beautiful property! Things to be aware of: it is Mr. toads wild ride to get up the dirt road. We lost a hubcap driving it. Hunters are in season, although quiet the barking dogs and gunshots can scare you if you aren’t aware of them. The hunters park close to the property early am. After booking I was told if you use the heat or pool it will cost more money? I think that should be on the original booking. We had low water pressure one day but the owner quickly fixed that. If you wash clothing it’s air dry- so make sure you have time to do that before departing. Garbage is recycled and you carry it down the hill to put into proper bins. If you are getting a taxi they may have challenges finding you. All in all a lovely property- just a few surprises.

Geschmackvolle, teilweise hochwertige Einrichtung mit einem gekonnten Mix aus IKEA und Antiquitäten.
Die Betten hatten Matratzenschoner, es gab in den Schränken und Kommoden genügend Stauraum. Tierfreund:innen stören sich eventuell an den toten Tieren, da der Hausherr wohl Jäger war und im Wohnzimmer echte Antilopenköpfe hängen, inklusive des zugehörigen Babys.
Handtücher, Kissen und Decken werden in großer Menge gestellt, auch Pooltücher waren in ausreichender Anzahl und guter Qualität vorhanden. Das Babybett war ganz bezaubernd hergerichtet, mit flachem Babykissen und selbst gehäkelter Baumwolldecke.
Das untere Schlafzimmer hatte so viele Nebengeräusche durch Wasser- und Rohrleitungen, dass ein ruhiger Schlaf dort für uns nicht möglich war.
Das Haus, die Betten und Bäder sind äußerst sauber und vor allem der Pool wird alle zwei Tage grundgereinigt. Das ist gerade am Saisonende nicht selbstverständlich und ganz wunderbar.
Der Pool ist nicht eingezäunt, Nichtschwimmer:innen müssen daher ständig beaufsichtigt werden. Wir haben uns sehr gefreut, dass unsere siebenjährigen Kinder in dem Pool stehen konnten. Er fällt zur Mitte hin etwas tiefer ab. Es war ein Genuss, in diesem Pool zu schwimmen, er hat fast den ganzen Tag Sonne und ist abends beleuchtet.
Die Hängematte im Garten war ein Traum.
Im Prinzip sehr ruhiges Anwesen, allerdings hat man keine Privatsphäre, da manchmal mehrmals täglich und unangemeldet freundliche Menschen erscheinen: Gärtner, Poolboys oder die Hausherrin.
Wir waren 8 Personen im Haus und fanden es sehr hellhörig.
Das Haus abzuschließen erfordert einige Geduld und Sachkenntnis, wir fühlten uns mit all den Gittern, den verschließbaren Außentüren und der Alarmanlage teilweise mehr eingesperrt als sicher, aber das ist Typsache. Die Gitterfenster in den Schlafzimmern des ersten Stocks lassen sich von innen aufsperren, so dass man im Falle eines Brandes dort hinaus kann. In jedem Zimmer ist ein Rauchmelder angebracht.
Entweder man kocht selbst oder fährt mit dem Auto 15-20 Minuten zum nächsten Restaurant. Das Buchen der Köchin empfehlen wir aufgrund mangelnder Sachkenntnis nicht. Es gibt keine Restaurants oder Pizzerien in Laufweite. Die Küche ist klein aber es gibt einen großen Vorratsraum mit zusätzlichem Kühlschrank.
Um zum nächsten Strand zu gelangen, fährt man min. 20 Minuten mit dem Auto. Die Zugänge dort sind in privater Hand, so dass man dort Liegen mieten muss.
