GITE PASQUIER

Eenvoudig appartement, voor twee personen. Zit- en slaapkamer ineen. Rustige, groene omgeving. Hoog gelegen boven Vienne: dat betekent een stukje klimmen vanuit het centrum, maar ook een mooi uitzicht. Zeker te doen (er is een kleine short cut), maar wandelen kost ongeveer 20 minuten. Veilig parkeren op eigen terrein. Lopend naar Vienne kom je dicht bij het station uit, waarvandaan veel treinen naar het centrum van Lyon vertrekken (ook ongeveer 20 minuten). Lyon is een heel mooie stad, waar veel te zien is. Trouwens ook in Vienne kun je gemakkelijk een dagje doorbrengen. Ook een goed vertrekpunt voor de bewegwijzerde fietsroute langs de Rhône.

The apartment is simply furnished, but very comfortable, with a particularly comfortable bed. The kitchen is well equipped and when we asked for a large casserole dish the hosts provided one straight away. There is an outdoor space for eating etc. and free parking. Well positioned for Vienne and for wine visits to the Northern Rhone valley. Situated on the edge of Vienne so beautiful countryside within walking distance.

The walk to the town is fine downhill and has fabulous views of Vienne, but coming back up is very steep and takes about 20 minutes. Fine during the day maybe, but not at the end of the evening after a meal. But the listing does make this clear. On arrival, the hosts asked for payment of tourist tax of 98 euros plus a security deposit of 150 euros. Neither of these things were mentioned in the listing, the booking, or any subsequent correspondence and it took some time for the owners to acknowledge this and to concede that we would not pay this. They could have confirmed this more quickly as it was not our mistake and it did taint the stay a little. I hope the listing will be amended to make it much clearer for future visitors.
