Villa Blanca is a beautifully restored, six unit, vacation rental apartment complex in a safe, tranquil, garden like setting steps to the beach and boardwalk. In November 2025 we finished a refresh with new paint, furniture and flooring. All of our apartments are named after world famous beaches. Our Malibu apartment is bright and sunny with garden views. You can hear the waves and smell the surf! This spacious, first floor apartment is charming with bright . The large galley kitchen is fully equipped for making a gourmet meal or simply packing a picnic lunch for the beach. The grounds of the building contain a barbeque area, outdoor shower, beach toys and boogie boards and bike racks. This upscale family friendly neighborhood is a minute walk to every restaurant cuisine you could imagine plus shopping, grocery stores, bars and all the board walk activities. Freeway access is near by and there is a local bus stop at the corner of Misson Blvd.

Put families with young children on the 1st floor. It got really noisy with them running around above us.Can use some paint on the walls and new windows.It is an excellent location!

Just okay. A bit rundown, the bed was very soft and uncomfortable. Neighbors let their dogs run about off leash and made some noise. On the plus side:it is close to the beach and parking was not as bad as expected.I wouldn’t go again.

We have stayed always upstairs but this time we tried downstairs and it worked out perfect. Love these apartments. So close to the beach and shops. Very clean with beautiful landscaping. The only thing was there was no gas to BQ so that bummed us out. Nice to be able to walk to everything. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at this cozy apartment. It is just as described, and literally a block from the ocean, and within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Quiet and friendly neighborhood and would definitely stay here again.

I was in San Diego for a short stay and loved the location of this property. You are steps away from Pacific Beach. There are tons of restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance. The property management were super responsive and extremely helpful! I 100% would stay here again!

My daughter and I loved this place! Quick access to the beach was our favorite part! Lots close shops and great restaurants that you can access by walking on the scenic boardwalk! The apartment offered beach chairs and beach toys that we enjoyed using! Apartment was clean and well taken care of!

Loved this apartment - it was well equipped and had what you needed. It was just a few 100 feet from the ocean walkway and close to lots of restaurants but it was quiet on the street. Nothing fancy and well worth it!

You cannot get a better location. Just steps from the beach, and perfectly set back in a quiet small condo community. The host was always quick to respond and helpful with anything needed. The unit is quaint, clean and has all necessary amenities.Street parking was also easy to come by.

The location was one block from the beach and a great location. There was only street parking for the one bedroom units which wasn’t usually a problem. The recycle bin had a rusted lock which was difficult to use and should be replaced. The toaster provided was rusted and dirty, I bought a new one myself.The manager had purchased a replacement and said she would reimburse me for the one I bought but she never did. The VRBO description said there was coin operated laundry available but there are no laundry facilities for the guests. Bed pillows were poor quality and lumpy so we bought our own.

The place is smaller then it looks in the photos! The queen bed in the bedroom makes a noise everytime you roll over. Garbage disposal did not work. The windows were very hard to open, no vacuum so you couldn't vacuum up the sand and debris. It was clean. It was extremely noisy with all the other condos right next to one another. The biggest disappointment was the no assigned parking.

Check in was quick and easy. Property was nice. Walking distance to all the bars and beach areas. The apartment was perfect for my wife and I. The only issue was parking. There were alot of campers on the street, they took up all the parking.

This apartment was perfect for the three of us. My husband and I had the double bed and our adult daughter had the sofa bed, which was comfortable she said. We couldn't work out how to turn it into a double bed (not that she needed it) for a few days, but did it in the end as we were curious. Megan (the property manager/owner?) was super in all communications: we received an email with all relevant details for the check-in a few days before arriving in San Diego. We had questions regarding the WiFi and Megan came back to us immediately, offering a solution but also to come over if needed - no problem at all. The apartment had everything we needed and more! All the basics were there but also things we didn't expect, like games, books, yoga mat, beach towels on top of the bath towels, shampoo and conditioner and also some condiments in the kitchen, very useful as you wouldn't want to buy these just for 6 days. There were also other things we didn't use but if the weather was nicer (it was quite cold in April 2023), we might have, like the outdoor chairs, the bike racks, the BBQ,... The outdoor hose pipe to wash our feet was super practical! The location was brilliant as well! Every morning, jogging along the beach, where we can find lots of shops selling hot drinks and breakfasts (we only had this once, but there is a vast choice). There are also a lot of grocery shops not too far (we used Trader Joe's and Vons). If you like to be near the beach, to run, swim, surf, lounge around, play beach volleyball - we recommend this place. Some people reviewing this place before us, said they could hear the neighbours at the top, but we only heard noises we expect to hear when people live in apartments and in no way was it unexpected or a nuisance. It actually made the place friendlier as we met others going in and out. The only thing we couldn't get to work was the door to the trash area (rubbish as we say in the UK : -) so we had to leave the bags just outside the apartment; thankfully, the cleaner was there and told us that was ok. All in all, yes, we would definitely recommend this place! You'll have a great time!

the location of this property is outstanding...a block to the beach and away from all the noise of pacific beach bars..etc. Megan Rose was outstanding in assisting with check in, check out and any inquires....called back in minutes. The condo is not brand new so expect some history..cracks in walls or peeling paint...still very charming...perhaps 4 new cushions on the bed as they were pretty lumpy. Kitchen was so well appointed..everything you need! All in all would definetely stay there again!

First of all, the location was great! A block from the beach! Watched the sun set every night! Close to many restaurants with varied cuisine. We ate at Kono's Cafe down by the pier/wharf (Breakfast/Lunch place), Thai Village Restaurant and Bare Back Grill (excellent Wagyu Beef burger and Habanero Fried Chicken sandwich). Neighbors were very quiet. Provided beach chairs were easy to get down to the beach (backpack straps). The apartment itself could use quite a bit of TLC. Some is easy like patching the walls, cleaning the windows, getting better kitchen ware (felt like it was hand me downs from the entire family's kitchens), another fan would have been great! More difficult items: Need more electrical outlets (there was only one in the main room, one in the tiny dining area and two in the bedroom). This made it difficult to place the fan near the windows to bring in the outside air, difficult to plug in toothbrush, phone and ipad chargers. A larger TV would have been nice. Both the living room and bedroom TVs were pretty small. Because of the location, the imperfections were kind of easy to forgive. Would we stay there again? Probably not unless the price was right.

The condo was perfect for us. My husband and I were celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary. Location was great!!! Walking distance to beach, restaurants and stores. We had no issues with the property during our five day stay. Highly recommend!!

Had a really good stay overall all the people living in their cars around the apartment complex was a little bit of of a challenge they took all of the parking spots most of the time however not their fault at all I'm in San Diego a lot and I haven't seen this many people living out of their cars ever

We enjoyed being so close to the beach, and utilized the boogie boards and beach chairs that where available near the outdoor shower. This location needs a deep cleaning and update. The property was not clean (dirty floors and throw pillows where stained with what looked like mustard) and the niceness/newness of items didn't match the listing photos. (There was no cooler as pictured, etc). In the bathroom was mildew and water damage, and my asthma would get bad everytime I was in there. The hall closet was coming off its hinge. Steam from the bathroom sets of the smile detector outside in the hallway. The water was able to get very hot which I liked! At booking I viewed the amenities and "coin laundry" and "parking" where listed, only to find out coin laundry was "in the area" (.4 miles away) and parking was street only. (You have to click the details when viewing, which seems deceptive when comparing to other properties to book. This resulted in us losing vacation time to transport, pay for , and follow up on laundry service. The property manager messaged me ahead of the stay, but I would have liked to be able to contact her through the VRBO website as well. When I messaged the property on VRBO they replied promptly, but referred me to the property manager for more details. We could also hear the people upstairs, especially their medium sized dog playing, but we didn't mind that too much. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the cottage made a good home base for our activities. I just wish it had looked as fresh as in the listing photos.

Would recommend this property if you’re hoping to be able to walk to the beach and a variety of restaurants. They provide beach chairs and towels which was very helpful since we were flying in for vacation and couldn’t bring stuff like that with us. The property itself is nice enough, nothing spectacular, which was fine for us since we spent most of our time out and about. If we could change anything, we wish there was air conditioning. Two fans were provided but it was still a bit too warm for us to sleep well at night during our mid August stay. While there is the beach, boardwalk, and multiple cafes, restaurants, and bars, I’d recommend getting a rental car if you’re hoping to explore more of the San Diego area.

Our unit was cleaned satisfactory but the apartment is in need of repair. There was 2 areas, one on the wall and one on the ceiling that are covered up with a wood board and awaiting repair. We didn’t have WiFi for the first 2 days because our code that was given to us didn’t work and the property manager must have forgotten that we requested a new code. I Remedied it by knocking on a neighbor’s door and shared their code with them. I asked for directions regarding the tv/cable because we couldn’t get them to work but never heard back. A couple of neighbors in other units said that it wasn’t working for them as well. Refrigerator froze a lot of our produce but we couldn’t get the dial to adjust. Front door locks well but has a large gap that flys continue to come in. We did request another fan as one was broken and it was delivered that day to us. Parking is on the street, parallel parking only. I thought this would be an issue competing with beach traffic but I was pleasantly surprised it was not. The location can’t be beat for beach access and as a couple of women traveling we felt safe in our location. All in all none of the things that I said spoiled our trip but I thought it was worth noting.

The apartment was just ok. My husband is a general contractor and saw many needed repairs to be done inside and especially the outside of the building, its been neglected. The biggest asset is the location, walking distance to the beach. Parking on street, but if you leave good luck finding a place when you return, we were lucky.

Our stay was nice, and this place is walking distance to the restaurants and bars. The beach that is right at the end of the road is gorgeous and not too crowded. Only complaint is that it’s advertised as plenty of street parking but you are competing with the beach traffic, and a few camper vans. Overall, not a bad stay.
