Canon Gate

The flat is beautifully appointed with really good attention to detail. There was plenty of equipment in the kitchen. (A welcome 'pack' of some milk, coffee, biscuits, etc. would make a nice addition.) The bathroom felt clean and fresh, with no mouldy sealant! Having the living room in the arch above the road was fun, although people standing underneath and talking didn't realise they could easily be heard! Parking instructions were very clear. The location, in terms of proximity to the cathedral, was absolutely brilliant - I was singing at the cathedral for the weekend and it was perfect. I appreciated being told when the property was ready - I couldn't go in early as I'd timed my journey for the entry time but it was nice to have the option. The communication from the hosts was excellent.

Friday night wasn't an issue but the noise from people talking loudly as they walked along South Street on Saturday night was loud until gone midnight. The second bedroom looks onto South Street so it was really quite noisy in there - not the fault of the flat owners at all but something of which it's useful to be aware. There are a LOT of small steps everywhere, as you'd expect in a property of this age, so you really have to watch your step - I stubbed my toe badly on the step into the bathroom because I was carrying a towel and didn't see the step.

Location was excellent. Apartment full of character

Nothing really. A problem we raised was addressed

We made our own breakfast. The location was in the Cathedral quarter which was excellent.

The information should perhaps make it clear that the apartment is not suitable for people who are less mobile. There are narrow stairs and various steps when you are in the apartment.

Plenty of space and brilliant location. We like the idea that staying here gives financial benefit to the cathedral

Could do with a bit more cutlery
