We stayed on a lovely little island in wonderful weather. Beautiful sunsets and beautiful scenery.
I can not think of anything I did not like. We knew we were going to a small island.

Although the location is isolated and may not be for everyone, the host and hostess made up for it with their attentiveness and fantastic hospitality. The owner even hand delivered a tray of coffee and ( before breakfast) munchies at 7am, when I asked the night before about getting a cup of coffee to bring into my room, the next morning. And.... I can't even describe the food at this little place. Dinner was Scrumptious, in fact it was probably one of the best meals we've had our entire trip. Breakfast was equally delicious. The island is wildly beautiful and refreshing for anyone wanting or needing some serious R & R. Overall, this was a wonderful experience for us.
It was a little remote and the rooms a little sparse.

On our family trip to Norway (children 8 years and 6 month) we booked this place spontaneously, without knowing what we have to expect. As it turned out, by coincidence, we found the loveliest place in our whole trip. A hidden gem. Ringholmen is a very small, rough island. Or, better said, a very big rock. The place was a traditional old klippfish factory in former times. Now, it is run by the owners, a lovely local couple, Kristine and Roy. Roy fetched us with a small boat from a place close to Leira. The island is a dream, perfect for relaxing and calming down, watching the fisherboats or the midnight sun. Super quite, just waves and birds. Surprisingly, Ringholmen seems to be a culinary highlight. Roys bacalao is famous among the locals there. I tried the Klippfish, and it was amazing. Believe it or not, the best fish I had in whole Norway. To be honest, one of the best fish dished I ever had in my life. The four of us stayed in one room. The rooms are rustic and simple, but cosy and the beds comfortable. So, do not expect a lot but a super good sleep. At the morning, Kristine spoiled us with a wonderful breakfast, made with lots of homemade stuff - and lots of love. We could even chose the breakfast time. A very relaxing concept. We had a good chat with both of them and learned a lot about bacalao and the local fishing industry. At the end, Roy offered to prepare two small portions of his famous bacalao. Just for trying, he said. And showed up with lunch-like plates. Just like this. Super tasty! Obviously, check-out time is handled quite flexible. At least in our case. Around 1pm Roy brought us back to our car at the main island of Tustna. Our son could drive the boat a little. Overall, the short stay at Ringholmen was the most unforgettable of our summer vacation. What a great surprising discovery. Our son loved it, too. We are very grateful with Kristine and Roy for their heartily hospitality.
