Temari Inn Yukikai

If you’re visiting Kurashiki, this is the place you’ll remember long after you’ve gone home! Beautiful, spacious room with lovely welcome drinks and snacks waiting for us on arrival. Situated in the heart of the historic district, it was the perfect place to stay and explore the area. But the absolute highlight was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, kind, and attentive, with so many thoughtful little gestures that made us feel like family. Their genuine hospitality made our stay truly unforgettable. Very authentic

Temari Inn Yukikai is a gorgeous place to stay. Right in the heart of the Bikan historic quarter you have everything around you. Junko is the commensurate host, welcoming us and helping us settle in. So kind. And you must eat at Sami restaurant for an incredibly special dining experience. One of the best meals we’ve had in Japan.

Our stay at Temari Inn Yukikai was honestly dreamy. Having an entire traditional house to ourselves made the experience feel very special and peaceful. The space was beautifully designed with tatami floors, floor seating, comfortable futon beds, a small bar area, and thoughtful details everywhere. They welcomed us with regional peach juice and treats, replenished complimentary water and tea daily, and even left little “snack of the day” surprises with handwritten notes. The staff were incredibly kind, and everything, from the pajamas to the sandals and ponchos, felt carefully curated and relaxing. The location was excellent, right in the middle of Kurashiki’s historic district, which made it perfect for exploring the town. One unique detail was that the private bathroom and bathtub were located downstairs behind the shop area, so you had to briefly step outside the room to access it, but it was completely private and absolutely worth it. The warm bath was one of the most relaxing moments of our trip. Kurashiki itself was a wonderful and calming stop between the bigger cities of Japan, probably not somewhere I would stay for many days, but absolutely worth visiting for a peaceful and memorable experience.
