About this house rental
Vermont West is the respite you have been waiting for. A country house, Vermont West is nestled deep in the rolling hills of southwestern Wisconsin. It is a weekend home away from home, filled with serenity and privacy. Situated on a 12 acre tree farm, there are mowed trails to roam on the property, a small winding creek, gardens of wildflowers, a fresh water spring and an evening sky full of stars, dependent on Mother Nature. Regardless of the season, you will find yourself immersed in the beauty of nature and the tranquility of pure relaxation.
Conveniently located between Dodgeville and Spring Green, an approximately 15 to 20 minutes drive to either, you will find an abundant amount of cultural destinations from Taliesen, various Frank Lloyd Wright architectural buildings, American Players Theater, the House on the Rock, Global View, and many others.
If shopping is your preference, you will find many little shops to poke around in, from modern kitchen and gourmet, to antiques and Lands End resale.
If sport is what you are after, fly fishing is excellent in the Otter Creek, just a mile away, great golf courses are located in either Dodgeville or Spring Green, and the hills are to die for, for any bicyclist or cross country skier. Whether you bring your snow shoes or your waders, you will feel right at home.
Vermont West will be one of the most scenic and enchanting country homes you will ever stay at. Our guests are amazed at the sky full of stars on a summers night. The sights and sounds of the abundant wildlife. Deer walking through the hills you can see from the wall of windows in the living room. Falling asleep to the sounds of the coyotes in the distance. The estate is so calming, you can feel the stress roll off. You will find yourself saying like so many before you, 'I don't want to leave and I definitely want to come back!'

Had a wonderful stay at the Vermont West house, thank you Paul and Terese for the hospitality; we truly enjoyed the house, it was perfect for our 3 generational girls weekend.

Nice old farm house that has been updated on a large property near Spring Green. We have stayed here over multiple years as a base for many of the attractions Spring Green has to offer including American Players Theater, Canoeing the Wisconsin River, House on the Rock, and Governor Dodge State Park.

The house was very clean, kitchen well stocked, and large kitchen table - great for a group. Linens on beds nice quality, box fans in every room if needed, A/C works great. Nice front porch over looking the front yard and firepit area. Walk up the hill in back and watch the sunset, and be sure to walk the trail around the house. Tons of books, games, toys, croquet, bocce ball etc. They thought of everything....Nice large gas grill in back works great too. Piggly Wiggly in town is nice too... be sure not to forget anything as it's about 20 minutes back to town. Walmart in Dodgeville too.Our cell phones worked in the house w/VZ but was a little spotty (FYI). Gave house phone number to family in case needed, so not a big deal what so ever.Had a hiccup at first booking (which was my fault) and the owner was quick to resolve my mistake.For sure recommend this property! Pictures on this listing are exactly as the property is in real life.Enjoy - you won't be disappointed!

We had no internet/tv the entire stay. Landline could only make local calls and owners phone number was not local. We were not able to conect to wifi or data at all to call in and report the issue.
The kitchen chairs need to be tightened up. My elderly disabled mother fell out of one due to it being very wobbly. The spongy areas of the floor and slippery rugs were not condusive to a walker.
We would have loved to be able to do laundry while we were there.
We enjoyed that the kitchen was fullly stocked with the needed tools to easily cook. I loved that there were plenty of books and games.
The location itself is beautiful! It is so serene and relaxing.
