Wonderful stay in Raglan

I was lucky enough to have the sun room, which was at the back of the property, a little bit quieter and had a double bed! Charger was right next to me, a lovely light bright room and a separate shared kitchen and bathroom from the main hotel. Great location, lovey staff.

Lovely staff, gorgeous and convenient location, everything is clean, heaps to offer such as bike/kayak rentals, great price! The place has a great vibe.

Even if you get a private room, you will hear everything. I heard my neighbour's snoring and even phone vibration notifications (and I am sure he heard my farts, soz!).

Great courtyard type layout. Friendly relaxed vibe. Room was clean and a fair size for three beds. Log burner for cosy evening in. Right in town so close to food and shops. Great views of the river.

Great stay in a perfect location, and I left like at home

It was clean, the fact it feels like a second home, every area is nice, love the living room :) Nice atmosphere, bed was confortable. I really appreciated my stay, thanks a lot :)

Relaxing & convenient to the town shops. I felt very safe being in between the fire station and police station.

There is a lot to do. Surfboards, kayaks, guitars, books etc.. nice clean and tidy premises.

Clean and modern dorm. Plenty of space and easy to check in. Nice hot shower with good pressure! Great location next to town centre and jetty.

Would have been nice to have had lockers or plugs at the beds but they did have storage space and plug sockets elsewhere.

Wifi was choppy. Connectivity and signal was a problem. One suggestion for the hosts is to enforce no smoke and vape rule in and around the property.

Unreal location, easy going stay!

Private double room was lovely to have. Stayed true to their word and was quiet after 10pm. Room has a key to lock the glass door and a curtain for privacy. Shared bathrooms were very clean. Didn't use their shower but looked clean also. Great value for money and location is unbeatable. Right in the centre of the village. Can park on the street leading down to the hostel but be careful as some areas are P60. Access down to the water right beside the hostel also. Would stay again!

Shared hand towel in the bathroom rather than paper towels/hand dryer - seemed a bit unhygienic as it was damp. No aircon in room but we kept the window open so it was not too bad. Bed was also not the comfiest, have had comfier hostel beds. But for the price it was not a big deal at all!

We really enjoyed our stay and would definetly do it again. I would even go there as a solo travelle

I really enjoyed the vibe, everyone was so friendly and the place was super cozy. I felt as if it were a mini home away from home. We also felt really safe with our belongings and everything in the kitchen was labelled properly.

The wifi was a little bit dodgy but considering that it was included and at a backpackers it was great for the price.

Cheap but dirty

The location was good. Pretty sunset views from the hostel garden. Free parking was very convenient. Cheap stay. Kayak and surfboard rentals were available.

Kitchen and bathrooms were dirty and were not adequately cleaned during the entirety of our stay. The bathrooms were covered in hair, dirt, mould etc. the kitchen sides were always dirty and people were not cleaning up after themselves. The whole place is in desperate need of a deep clean. The bunk beds did not feel very safe as the top bunks had no sides so you could easily roll off in the middle of the night.

A comfortable and friendly hostel in a great location

The lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. I had a private room which was basic but comfortable, with a lovely view. The location could not be better within Raglan.

It was quite noisy in the evening with people sitting right outside the room talking and on the phone etc., but you have to expect this from a backpackers.

We chose not to stay after looking in the room.

The location is right in the middle of town and walking distance to all the cafes and restaurants. Easy access to walking tracks.

Disorganisation. No parking available. The place looked like a junkyard. We were told not to use one of the kitchens as they could not get cleaners. The poor girl on the check-in desk was struggling with their booking system. We had booked a private twin room a few weeks prior and the booking had been either lost or not put into their system correctly. The alternative they offered were two beds in a 6 bed room that was unoccupied. The room albeit clean was bare and cold with wooden floors and broken blinds. It had an oil heater that would have taken hours to heat the room. Booking.com was very helpful and arranged a refund.
