Radisson Blu Hotel & Residences Zakopane

The kid area is great and clean: wonderful playroom for both babies and bigger kids next to the bar, also a small baby bool (not suitable for bigger kids, but has a nice little slide ideal for kids 0-5). However the playrooms are only open from 10AM, which is unconvenient - though open till late, 10PM. Location: close to the shopping street (which has great and inexpensive dining options too), but surrunded by 2 dead-end street (the residence building that contains the apartment style rooms). Cleaniness: the bathrooms and the pool area was amazingly clear, however the daily cleaning did not include vacuuming/sweeping the floors in the room which was unconvenient with a baby for us. The building, rooms: Nicely built building with ok soundproofing. We have been in the residence part (apartments), which has a lot of storage place, 2 bathrooms (1 toilet and another toilet+bath tub), a huge double bed, and overall well thought layout. It was comfy with 2 small kids. Also, we were a bit concerned that all the amenities are in the main building and we would have to go outside all the time when going to the spa/restaurant, but there is actually a closed corridor connecting the 2 buildings.

To sum up: the staff and the buffet. I really don't have too high expectations regarding the kindness of the staff, but we travelled with another family, and we both had only bad or avarage experiences. Especially at the restaurant. No one greeted us, only a 'room number?' question, no one came to our table to ask if we need drinks (other than the free water and tea provided), we were with a baby, and in any other hotel when they see a baby, they bring a baby chair, here I did it all the time, one time 3 staff member watched as I carry a babychair in one hand with the baby in my other hand.. On the first day the dinner was a la carte, not buffet, and the waitress forgot to bring one drink we ordered (out of two), and one of the food, eventhough there was only 2 other people in the restaurant, and she was just standing around, and when I asked super kindly about the missing food she was upset, it was comical. Anyhow even for us not going in expecting a 5 star treatment (reading the reviews), it still shadowed the weekend, as even common curtesy (like letting the guest go through a door first not cutting in) was missing. The other bad point was the buffet itself. We payed for half board. The food were made tasty, meaining I believe the chef was good. But the variety was very limited the 'kids food' was 4 days in a row fries, only one time pizza, the ingredients were typical cheap ones (no quality meat, seafood, special veggies, etc.), and they clearly reuse the previous days food, for example: there were brokkoli with almond flakes for dinner, next day they put it out as a side dish for breakfast, and the day after they mixed it with another leftover salad and put it out like that, like in a bad school cafeteria.. We didn't eat anything remarkable, and even the signs for the food were regularly missing. Cleaniness: the balcony was dirty, in the restaurant at breakfast there were food on the floor from dinner.

We enjoyed the stay. It was all perfect, the room was beautiful and we enjoyed the pool. The hotel staff was extremely polite and helpful. Thanks so much for the hospitality.

It is very difficult to give this hotel 5 stars. Usually, in a 5-star hotel with such a high price, there is a toothbrush and toothpaste, drinking water in the room and not in the hallway, a coffee machine. There was nothing here, a hostel-like feeling. Regarding food in the hotel dining room - at a military base, the food is tastier here, there was a "grab and go" feeling.
