This condo interacts with the other condos in that it is on the first floor in a four story building. The front section of the fourth floor is the called the Congo Lounge and it is open to all guests. There are tables, chairs, sofas and hammocks, as well as amazing views, ocean breezes, and howler monkeys hanging from the nearby trees!
Alta Vista is in the Sámara neighborhood of Cangrejal, on the north end of the bay of Sámara. Cangrejal is a Costa Rican neighborhood, an old fishing village, and is very quiet with no loud music or bars. There is a great casual restaurant in Cangrejal just down the street towards the beach from Alta Vista called "La Perla" which offers great healthy local cuisine at reasonable prices. Two blocks away from Alta Vista opposite the beach is a popular supermarket named "La Iguana Verde", a medium size grocery and liquor store. The neighborhood like Sámara is safe in general. However always be aware of your personal belongings on the beach or in public. Please be safe yourself and considerate to the other guests of the building by closing and locking your parking garage gate.
Before you arrive, please message Hilda & Patrick using the Airbnb messenger with your arrival time. It will help to exchange phone numbers at that point so you can call Hilda when you pass through Nicoya on your way to Samara. Nicoya is 50 minutes away and lets Hilda know your exact arrival time. When you pull up, you will see the sign on the front door: Alta Vista Condominiums, and the four-story building. If you’ve called us from Nicoya, we’ll be waiting to open the parking gate for you! Our friendly administrator Hilda will greet you with the keys and begin your check-in.
Introducing Condo Amapola, a contemporary 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat. Each bedroom features a queen bed, complemented by a queen size pull-out sofa sleeper in the living room, accommodating a maximum of 6 guests. Positioned on the first floor, Amapola boasts a modern and serene ambiance. The expansive floor-to-ceiling windows offer a captivating beach and ocean view, creating a picturesque setting. Relax on the private balcony furnished for optimal enjoyment of this stunning vista. The beds and linens exude luxury, ensuring a comfortable stay. The open floor plan facilitates easy movement, relaxation, and seamless appreciation of the surrounding scenery. With three individual air conditioning units, your comfort is guaranteed. Most guests either choose to rent a car and drive from the airport to Alta Vista or take some sort of private transportation. I do not recommend local transportation; you'd be taking 3-4 buses! Just say the word and Hilda can help you make a reservation for a private shuttle van; we have a company that has been providing dependable service for almost a decade. They will meet you at the airport with your name on a sign and drive you approx. two hours to Alta Vista in a comfortable, air-conditioned van usually stocked with cold water and fresh fruit. The driver typically speaks enough English to get by. They will stop at a grocery store in Nicoya if you choose.

Just as described! We loved the location - so close to the local stores and a fabulous 'soda', the local mom and pop restaurant. Really cute and delicious, and with friendly locals. Thank you, Patrick and Hilda, for your kindness and responsiveness.

My stay at Amapola was exceptional. The condo was impeccable and had all the conveniences of home. The view from our balcony was fabulous, every morning and all day. A short walk to the beach found us enjoying sunrise walks, leisurely days swimming in clear ocean waters and often late night walk. The proximity to town was perfect with souvenir shopping an great restaurants. I used the go kart on a daily basis enjoying the sites and sounds of Samara. It also was spotless and GREATLY added to the joy and comfort of our stay in Samara. The pool at Alta Vista was used daily and was a joy. I cannot think of anything to improve on the experience and joy of Alta Vista, and the Amapola condo. I highly recommend it. I plan to return, at least yearly.

Patrick and Hilda were wonderful hosts—friendly, responsive, and always happy to help. Our family had an amazing stay at the condo. The views were stunning, and the location offered easy access to everything we needed. The home was fully equipped with everything to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. We especially appreciated that it was set away from town—it made for a peaceful, quiet retreat.One of the highlights was hearing the howler monkeys nearby, which was such a unique and special experience. We also loved having access to the pool—it was the perfect way to cool off and unwind. The view from the rooftop Congo Lounge allowed for even more incredible ocean and jungle scenery—an ideal spot to relax, take in the sunset, and truly appreciate the beauty of the area. This was one of the few places with a true ocean view!

Love it ! Have stayed here multiple times over the past decade and now Patrick who built and owns Alta Vista lives next door ! You will not find any rental more secure, better views or maintained in Samara.
