Very friendly staff, lovely breakfast

A lot of bureaucracy, lots of paperwork. A big puddle outside the door that made it hard to enter the hotel. We were there in rainy season

The property has a nice atmosphere and hacienda style.

The rooms were outdated and not very spacious (e.g. beds made sounds when turning around plus the bathroom could be upgraded).

Really loved the location. Very easy to get into the main square and markets. Staff are all lovely. Food is large portions and so good value for money. If you have the breakfast included in the rate it’s a very good deal. If you’re visiting Chichen Itza you can ask for a takeaway breakfast included the early morning which includes a sandwich, juice and fresh coffee. The swimming pools are lovely.

The noise. The noise from the music is just too loud. When you come back from a day of sight seeing and want to relax in a quiet space you can’t because the music is playing. In the evening after dinner the music is playing. It’s like there is a band in your room. We were room 202 which was closest to the bar area but I think rooms 201, 203 and even 101 would have been loud. So make sure you ask for a room far away from the bar in booking. But then there’s also noise from the waterfalls by the pool. When you just want some peace and quiet it’s all just too loud. Also the rooms are quite dark rather than light and airy and the bathroom is quite small. We could not open the door and stand at the sink. Finally they only make up the room if you ask in the morning.

Good location

Some aspects of the service could be improved, particularly in how guests are greeted and attended to. When I arrived, two staff members were speaking with each other while I waited to be acknowledged, which created an unwelcoming first impression. While it may be that some team members are still in training, the prices charged suggest a level of service that should feel consistently friendly, attentive, and professional. At the moment, the service experience does not fully match the price point. Improving guest interaction and attentiveness would make a significant difference.
