The Carriage House Flat - Downtown Paris Canada

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and location was close to Downtown and easily walkable. Judy was very friendly and helpful. Property had lots of character and our room was very clean and cozy.

The rustic historic feel of the property was great, and unique original features, plus a bonus use of the excellent quality pool table in the lower room as it was not in use on our second night, many thanks for that Judi.

In time I know the path to the river will be cleared and that will be a great addition to access the water also.

Judy and her husband are some of the loveliest and thoughtful people you'll ever meet, having lived in the area for decades, and this care and attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk into your room. From the impeccable tidiness, historically preserved property and decoration, to even the 5-star breakfast served at our convenience. They accommodated our young child, even going out of their way to make up a second bed. They had a full-size refrigerator in our room, with a beautiful view of the River through the trees in the back.

I wish we could have stayed longer and taken our time to enjoy the place and all the love the owners have put into restoring such an old and historical building. There is nothing else to say!

The historical aspect of the property was great. Very interesting artifacts and pictures in the apartment. The view of the Grand river from our window was wonderful too. The host was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the history of the house and community. Bed was comfortable and clean and kitchenette was well stocked with essentials.

While the view of the river was great it was obscured by dirt and debris on the outside of the windows. There were still dishes in the drying rack in the kitchen which I put away and coffee left in the pot and old grounds and filter paper left from previous guest. While the host was very informative she did not communicate the time or location of the breakfast nor was any information in the apartment or on the web site. When I called the next morning at about 10:15 I was told breakfast had already been served (7:30-9:30). She offered to make up something “quick” but because I am gluten free (I had already stated that in the original booking and she had replied that wouldn’t be a problem) and we needed to leave shortly. I feel this lack of information or assumption that we should know breakfast protocol affected our overall impression of this B & B.
