Temple Pond Villa Colombo

It’s a hidden oasis located surprisingly close to a busy town — somewhere you would never expect such a peaceful and beautiful place to exist. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, relaxing, and welcoming. The property itself is stunning, surrounded by nature and thoughtfully maintained, creating the perfect place to unwind and escape the noise of everyday life. What truly made our stay exceptional was the level of service and hospitality we received. The staff went above and beyond our expectations to ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The caretakers were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel more like guests in a family home rather than visitors at accommodation. Every morning we were treated to wonderful, delicious breakfasts prepared with great care, followed by lovely fresh fruits and homemade pickles made from produce grown in the garden. You could really feel the effort and love put into every detail, which made the experience even more special and authentic. The location was also extremely convenient. Despite feeling secluded and peaceful, it was only around a 6-minute walk to the main shops and restaurants in town. There is also a friendly and reliable tuk tuk driver living nearby who was very helpful for getting around and made commuting easy during our stay. We have already recommended this place to our friends and family, and we will definitely be returning when we visit Sri Lanka again next year. It is one of those rare places that leaves a lasting impression long after you leave.

I traveled to Sri Lanka for safe tourism during this pandemic. I spent one night at Temple Pond Villa. The villa has three rooms: one big room with an attached bathroom and two smaller rooms with shared bathroom. The villa was neat and charming. The garden in front of the villa is immense and green. The swimming pool, located in the garden, adds some blueness to the green landscape. The location is calm and the main road was just minutes away by walk.

The owner was money-minded. There’s nothing much to see in this area for tourism. Once on the main road, there’s hustle and bustle everywhere; with so much noise. It’s good as a transit destination, while on a road trip along the coast. The villa breakfast option doesn’t have vegetarian meal. Being a vegetarian, I had to discuss my meal preference with the owner. I think it will be a good idea to add a vegetarian option in the breakfast menu.
