About this apartment rental
This two level (2nd & 3rd floors) 2 bedroom+sleeping loft/2 bath condo is in a 13 unit beachfront complex just south of San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. Condo A5 has two covered balconies overlooking the pool & the beach with a fabulous view of the Belize Barrier Reef!
On the condo's lower level, there's a bedroom with queen bed, a full bathroom, full kitchen, and living/dining area with queen sleeper sofa. On the upper level, there's a bedroom with a queen bed, a full bathroom, and an open area with a sitting/TV area with 2 twin beds. On each level there's a covered veranda overlooking the pool and the sea.
Because this condo is on two levels, two couples or a larger group of people will find that there is some privacy still, even while all under one roof.

Sunset Beach Resort is located 2.5 miles/4 km south of the town core, which means you are away from the crowds yet still within easy reach of everything. In the neighborhood we have:
--Suya Tour operator (1 minute walk)
--Marin’s, a small grocery store (2 minute walk)
--A few good restaurants (2-15 minute walk)
And there are more shopping, restaurant & entertainment options on the way to & in town, which is not far away!
The Belize Barrier Reef, the longest in the western hemisphere, is very close to shore making the area ideal for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing; other water sports are also popular!
It's easy to take a day trip to the mainland to visit Maya sites such as Altun Ha and Lamanai; or to observe some of the 500 species of birds found in Belize and/or catch a glimpse of monkeys, manatees and crocodiles in the wild!

An onsite staff person will meet you for check-in & to provide you with a key; we will need to know your island arrival plans (& would be happy to help with the logistics!) in advance in order to facilitate this.

Property manager, Barbara, went above and beyond expectations. Concierge, Jason and James wonderful. Quiet location. Everyone we met were very lovely, our group had a great time.

I've rented a number of vrbo vacation rentals, but I've never felt I had so many people helping to ensure a great family vacation. From Barbara and Rosa ensuring we had all the information and had setup the island essentials (i.e., golf carts and snorkeling tours) to our on-site crew of an always available Juan Carlos.
San Pedro is a small, local, ocean focused community. Most of our fishing, snorkeling guides and tour guides grew up there. There are two sides of San Pedro, the somewhat chaotic bustle of a single road through town filled with bikes and gas golf carts, and the incredibly serene ocean side where you get picked up at your own dock and head to the incredible reef waters. My family liked both sides, but the condo itself was always a serene and immaculately maintained and gardened respite to go back to.

Just completed a dive trip with 5 buddies, and our stay at sunset beach resort was the icing on the cake to a fantastic trip. First off, the staff is fantastic. Very communicative before and during the trip, and the caretaker of the property was great, friendly and on the ball. He always was there when we needed him.The condo itself was clean and comfortable. With five guys, it was the perfect way for us to have our own space, but be able to hang out in the dining room and kitchen. It is located about 10 minutes outside of town, but I think that is an advantage; it is away from the airport and the crowds. Just rent a golf cart (almost mandatory for a stay at Ambergris), and you will be fine.The dive shop is literally across the street, and they are great. There is a corner market, and has most of what you need. We had a great time, and really enjoyed our time at the condo. I highly recommend.
