About this house rental

Our property is a well equipped comfortable old fisherman's cottage which is situated in the heart of Filey's town centre, with a short walk to all Filey's many shops, bars and restaurants.

We are a very dog friendly cottage where you can walk your dog's on the beach which is only a few minutes walk.

The cottage has free Wi-Fi and consists of 2 bedrooms, first bedroom has 1 x double and the second bedroom has a 2 single beds.
The lounge has 3 x two seater sofa's, flat-screen TV and Sky TV, DVD player and a log burning effect electric fire.
Also downstairs offers a separate dining room, and a fully functional separate modern kitchen.

We have a walled garden to the rear, where your dogs will be safe.

IMPORTANT NOT: We have a parking space a couple of minutes walk away from the cottage for 1 small car. You also have the option to park on the roadside for free.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you have booked, you will be able to download your welcome guide from your Vrbo account 3 days before your stay, this will also give you the cottage key code and parking code.

Washing machine would have been a bonus especially if teenagers had been staying.Parking a large car is also a problem . Also loading and unloadingthe car needs careful thought.

Excellent, central position near beach, shops and restaurants. Towels and bedding were spotlessly clean and kitchen was well equipped but there was no dishwasher or washing machine therfore I have given it 4 stars.

House was okay.Could do with some deep cleaning windows bathroom woodwork also the light cord in the bathroom is not hygienic at all.Some tidying up in the back yard would be a great improvement.Did not like the area so we will not be using this property again.

We have just returned from a week in this delightful cottage. Louise has provided everything that you would need, especially the helpful plugs on the dressing table, excellent idea! I must mention the wonderful shower too, which was so powerful.The place was spotless and looks even better in the flesh. It’s perfectly situated for the town, bus/train station and supermarkets. Having the dedicated parking space was a huge bonus too.Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if we ever returned

Two oldies' with our 5yrs old grandson. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, well-equipped and conveniently situated for shops and beach - though a steep walk coming back up! Considering it is so near shops, restaurants etc it was very quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay. The owner was very understanding when I told her we couldn't leave the cottage as we had found it as I had broken my wrist the previous day. Beware of seaweed-covered rocks at Robin Hood's Bay!! Would stay again.

Nice little property, handy for all amenities, shops , restaurants, pubs, takeaways etc. Very clean. If it were mine, I would spend a couple of hours in the back yard with a sweeping brush/ power washer/ weed killer. It really would make a big difference, as the back yard is a proper sun trap.

The property is tucked away just of the Main Street in the town centre. Perfect for access to all amenities and the beach. We were able to lock the car up and walk everywhere. The property provided everything one could need for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend.

Don't let the lack of photos of the front of the property put you off. True it's in a very narrow side street and the outlook is far from pretty, but it's in a very convenient location. Inside there's everything you need, and the property is well cared for. It's literally a couple of minutes' walk to the sea. Shops, pubs, restaurants all handy. We arrived during very bleak weather, strong winds and driving rain. Once that cleared, Filey didn't disappoint. Surely one of the best traditional sea fronts anywhere! And that beach! Wow! If you get a chance to walk out to the end of the Brigg and look around the corner towards Scarborough, the cliff scenery is magnificent (quite reminded us of Cornwall). The people were friendly (what do you expect, it's Yorkshire!) We'll certainly be back to Filey.

The cottage was so close to the centre of Filey it made getting around so easy, the cottage was situated on a quiet street so not at all noisy during the day or night. Immaculately clean bedding and towels, everything that was needed was there to use, and added bonus was Sky TV and the seating area outside. The owner Louise went over and above to be helpful Overall a lovely short stay, wish it had been longer.

Wow what a find, this is cottage is such a lovely place to stay, the 2 bedrooms are a good size, Sky TV in the living room and you even get the sun shining in the back yard in the afternoon if you're lucky. We didn't use the carpark which is part of the package as we was lucky enough to find free street parking nearby. A 3 minute walk to Tesco to get groceries was handy and 3 minutes in the other direction takes you to the beach. We loved it and will certainly return sometime in the near future.

We stayed for 5 days (2 adults 2 small dogs) and really enjoyed it. A few issues on arrival where we couldn’t access the key box and then couldn’t get the cooker hob to work but the owner responded quickly and the problems were resolved. The cottage was very clean and well maintained although the back yard has a walkway through for bin access so wasn’t as dog secure as we’d hoped. The location is great for walking in to Filey, the beach and also very convenient for the bus and train stations. The parking was secure a few streets away but you need to be a confident driver to manoeuvre in and out. Parking in Filey seems to be in demand and difficult to find free on street parking nearby . The twin room doesn’t have a radiator and although not a problem in July might be in colder months and the curtains are about 3 inches too short so you get woken up at early light. Overall we enjoyed the cottage and it’s in a really central location.

This is a lovely, spacious, well equipped cottage. There was lots of room, comfortable beds and a sitting area in the garden which is a real suntrap. It is situated in a quiet area of Filey but also within a short distance of all amenities, beach, seafront etc. Filey is a beautiful town. The only problem was with parking. The instructions we were given re the parking space was that we would see a large metal gate with number 5 on it and we were given the access code. We assumed (as we had not been told otherwise) that this was in Chapel Street alongside the cottage. We searched the area but could not find it, despite enlisting the help of a local. We had to park on the road for the duration of our stay. We looked online at the reviews for the property and realised that the parking space was a couple of streets away. We had no idea what street or where to start looking. We telephoned the number given to us by the owner but it kept going to voicemail. We left a message but our call wasn't returned. The owner told us that she would be away that week but we assumed that our message would be picked up. We are not sure what would have happened if we had had a real emergency.
