The Villa has an extraordinary view and is surrounded by centuries-old vegetation that makes the house cool and shady even in the hottest periods.
The villa is located few meters from Portofino, and it’s reachable by foot thanks to a 300-meter path. It’s also just 1 km from the famous Paraggi Beach.
Historic home of the director of Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani, heart and mind of the magazine that has forever changed the world of fashion, the villa presents paintings and luxury furnitures from which transpires a deep love for fashion, photography, art and cinema.
The large panoramic terraces surrounding the property house hosts a splendid swimming pool overlooking the Gulf of Portofino, a covered terrace with a dining table, perfect for summer dinners, and numerous lounge areas with sofas and chairs where you can relax.
The property has 1 private parking space for a compact car. [ 464 cm x 172 cm ]
In case of other cars we suggest to use the public parking of Portofino.
The villa can accommodate 6 guests + 2 children and it has air conditioning.
On the ground floor you will find a comfortable living room, furnished kitchen and a big dining room and the access to outside area with large sofa and a peculiar terrace with dining table where you can enjoy Portofino’s view
Each bedroom offers panoramic view and private bathroom with shower, almost of bedrooms are provided with private terrace to guarantee maximum privacy and independence.

The place and views are fantastic, as great as the pictures on VRBO. Walking to Portofino is easy (although coming back is a workout). We did not realize we'd have a housekeeper staying in a guesthouse on the grounds, but Anura is a lovely man who was very helpful. He made us coffee every morning, cleaned daily, and did our laundry. Anura is a master of removing stains!
One negative is that getting a taxi to Villa Franca is difficult due to some weird taxi regulations in Portofino. It appears it's because you have to travel through the secured area of Hotel Splendido. As a workaround, we asked taxi drivers to take us to Hotel Splenido, as it's a short walk to/from Villa Franca. We even jumped in the Hotel Splendido shuttle several times, and when we needed a taxi to go to Santa Margherita, we walked over to Hotel Spendido and asked the concierge to call one (they did not ask if we were staying there).

The Villa itself was spectacular. It was beautifully situated in the hills above Portofino and the views of the Ligurian Sea were striking. There was plenty of room for a family of 5 and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the many balconies and in the pool. Anura was hugely helpful … he made breakfast every morning, made our beds, cleaned the Villa, and served dinners during the evenings when we had a chef. I also need to compliment Alex for his kind attention to every detail. He arranged a chef, a boat tour, a vineyard tour, and made sure all of our needs were met.
We loved this vacation from start to finish. Many thanks to the team at Villa Franca!

The home was better than advertised if possible. We are a tall famiy so only issue was short showers. Otherwise we didn't know a housekeeper lived on property and helped with breakfast, laundry, and anything we asked. Portofino is beautiful. Only thing we should have done differently is to make dinner reservations in town. Alex the property manager was on site and extremely helpful arranging transfers, etc. Highly recommend.
