Beautiful, large (1000 sqft) 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment with full kitchen. Centrally located just a 5 minute walk above town on a quiet, breezy hillside. Gorgeous views of the Sea of Cortez and the surrounding mountains.
Heated saltwater pool and palapa area are perfect for sunbathing, yoga, and just relaxing. 5-10 minute walk to pristine beaches, restaurants, yoga studios/gyms, farmer's market, shops, fantastic vegetable market & grocery stores. Palmes de Cortez Pickleball Complex is a 10 minute walk. Tres Palapas Pickle Ball Complex is a 5 minute drive or bike ride.

Jim’s Cottages is a one-of a-kind compound that consists of two identical buildings built on an enormous hillside lot. Each building has an upper unit (1 BR, 1.5 Baths) and lower unit (2 BR, 1 Bath).
The property is ideally situated at the crest of the small hill above town, providing guests with the perfect combination of sweeping sea & mountain views, gentle breezes, tranquility and privacy while still being a 5-10 minute walk to beaches, shops and restaurants.
Each unit has its own entrance and large patio on opposite sides of the building to ensure the utmost privacy.
This unit features one queen and two double plush beds, well-stocked full kitchen, 10' high ceilings, large windows and double screen doors that allow the breeze to flow freely throughout, creating a refreshing, naturally ventilated space that keeps it cool even without using the AC. Guests can choose to privately dine inside or on their patio.
Television in living room has Roku (Apple TV or Firestick is available on request). Guests must use personal logins for Apple TV, Max, Netflix, etc. Some streaming services may not be accessible in Mexico due to copyright restrictions. WiFi is very fast and reliable for streaming and video calls from anywhere on the property. Cell signal is excellent, unlike some areas outside of town.
The expansive, beautiful pool area and palapa offer a variety of lounging and dining options, along with floating pool hammocks and noodles for added relaxation.
The exceptionally well-maintained grounds include an organic herb garden that's available to guests when in season.
The heated saltwater pool and spacious deck area create an ideal setting for relaxation and rejuvenation, offering a perfect alternative to the beach on windy days when the beach is less appealing.
The property is secured by walls and gates on all sides without obstructing the expansive views of the beautiful surroundings.
There are also 3 garages on the property that are available for an additional fee.
In addition to all the other amenities, the property has a robust backup generator system that keeps power, AC and internet fully functional in case of any power outages, which are not uncommon in Los Barriles.

We had such a wonderful stay at Jim‘s cottage! The Casita is spacious, beautifully decorated, and has everything you could possibly need. It’s peaceful and quiet – perfect for relaxing – and the pool is an added bonus. Jim is a great host, friendly, and helpful if you have any questions. I truly didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back again

Our stay was fantastic, the Casita was clean. The beds and couches were extremely comfortable. The pool was very nice with sitting areas adjacent, with an excellent view of the Sea of Cortes! I would definitely stay here again.

Jim’s cottage was exactly as advertised and then some. There are so many extras that elevated our stay; from little things like coffee and creamer to shampoo and conditioner to having everything clearly explained and even labelled to eliminate any possible confusion.
Jim and his wonderful fur baby Jackson are excellent hosts with answers and recommendations any time we asked. He also supplied us with beach gear and went out of his way to make us feel more than welcomed to Los Barriles.
All this said, we did not feel uncomfortable at any time having the host on site. There was another couple in residence in the other cottage and we never felt like our privacy was being invaded.
I would return again in a heartbeat.
