About this house rental

Summary:

From sunrise swims to evening wine in the hot tub, Church House captures the best of island living, modern comfort, endless views, and simple, unhurried days.

The Space:

Perched above Onetangi Beach, Church House is a calm, contemporary retreat with sweeping sea views and a design made for easy living. Cedar tones, natural light, and open spaces connect the home to its surroundings, while every room feels anchored to the horizon.

The main living area is open and airy, with a modern kitchen, dining space, and comfortable lounge that flow together toward the deck. Large glass doors bring the outside in, filling the room with light and sea breeze. The gas fireplace and underfloor heating make winter stays just as inviting as summer.

Outdoors, you’ll find multiple decks for sun and shade, a spa pool overlooking the bay, and a BBQ area perfect for long lunches and dinners that run into the evening.

Upstairs, the master suite has its own ensuite bathroom and panoramic views of the coast. Two additional bedrooms share a full bathroom, each designed for comfort with soft linens and thoughtful touches. A second living area on the lower level offers space to unwind, ideal for families or small groups who like to spread out.

Church House is relaxed, refined, and perfectly placed, the kind of home that makes time slow down, with the sea always just beyond the glass.

The Neighborhood:

From Church House, the best of Waiheke sits right below you. Within minutes you can be on Onetangi Beach, coffee in hand, soft sand underfoot, and the water stretching out ahead. The beach runs long and wide, perfect for morning swims, walks, or watching the surf roll in at sunset.

At the far end of the beach, Three Seven Two serves relaxed coastal dining with local wine and produce. Across the road, Charlie Farley’s is an island favourite for casual meals, good coffee, and easy afternoons that roll into evening.

Just a few minutes inland lies Vineyard Valley, home to Stonyridge, Tantalus Estate, Te Motu, and Wild on Waiheke, all offering long lunches, tastings, and that unmistakable Waiheke sense of time slowing down. For a change of pace, stop by The Heke Beer, Spirits & Grill, the island’s brewery and distillery, where local beer and gin are served with hearty food and a relaxed outdoor vibe.

Groceries and essentials are nearby in Ostend, and Oneroa Village is a short drive for boutiques, galleries, and dinner by the water.

Peaceful, elevated, and close to everything, Church House sits in one of the island’s most sought-after spots, where every day feels unhurried and every view feels like a reminder to stay a little longer

Getting Around:

Getting around from Church House is simple. The Matiatia passenger ferry terminal is about a 15-minute drive from the property, and regular bus routes (50A and 50B) connect the ferry to Onetangi Beach, with a stop just a short walk from the house.

Once you’re here, most things are close, the beach, cafés, and restaurants are all within a few minutes’ drive or an easy walk. If you’d like to explore further, the bus runs regularly to the island’s main spots, including Oneroa Village, the Vineyard Valley, and The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery, which has a stop right outside.

Taxis, e-bikes, and car hire are also available across the island, and there’s off-street parking for two vehicles at the property. However you travel, the journey always comes with a view, sea, bush, and that gentle Waiheke pace that makes getting there part of the experience
