Flat in historic neighbourhood

Cuando pregunte de que manera debia entrar me repondieron rapidamente, me explicaron y mandaron fotos. Para nosotras fue un gran alivio y salio todo perfecto. Inclusive tuvieron la amabilidad de dejarnos entrar antes y que todo estuviera limpio y acomodado para nuetra llegada. Tambien nos ayudaron en el pedido de un taxi que necesitamos cuando nos fuimos muy temprano de Lisboa. Es ideal para no mas de tres personas. Es amplio y comodo

I had a wonderful stay in a charming flat in Lisbon’s historic neighborhood. The host was very attentive, and the service was excellent. The location was midway up a hill—walking was a bit strenuous but definitely doable. The flat is conveniently close to trains, buses, and trams, making it easy to explore the city—and even take a ferry if you want to venture further!

The flat’s location is between the Santa Catarina Miradouro and a nightclub at the bottom of the hill. Being on the first floor, there was notable foot traffic and noise throughout the night. While the hill was a bit strenuous, and there was some noise, I didn’t find it too bothersome overall.

The kitchen has pretty much everything you need, in case you want to prepare some food. Same for appliances : portable fan, heater, iron, hair dryer etc.

The apartment is located on a small steep street, so it may be difficult for older people to access it. The access is directly from the street, so you can hear everything happening outside. Being an old building, you can also hear every step from the people living upstairs. The bedroom is a small room, with an improvised, decorative window which you cannot open, making the airing of the room impossible (we used a portable fan to air the room a little bit). But these are not really big issues that one cannot ignore. The real problem are the neighbors. Right outside the corner there is a small market which in the afternoons and nights becomes an improvised street bar. Locals block the small street with a table, play very loud music and make a lot of noise. Every day, every night. There was not only one moment of peace and quiet there: loud music, people shouting and throwing beer bottles in the dumpsters which are exactly under the only window of the apartment (the kitchen window). You cannot leave this window open for airing or natural light because of all the noise and the smell (they are also making barbeque once in 2 days, sometimes right under the window). So the only option to air the apartment is to leave the front door opened once in a while. Resting is out of the question here. You just endure the chaos and make your sleep & rest programme based on the neighbors. We regret booking this apartment because it kind of ruined our vacation. The last thing you need after a long day of visiting sites is to find a party in your "home". And we stayed here 6 nights... So, no airing, no natural light (we stayed with the wooden shutters of the one window closed because it helped a little with stopping the outside noise). Take some extra towels with you. There is only one set there and no one changes them (we bought some from a shop). PS. Unfortunatelly, booking doesn't allow to upload videos, I think it would have helped.
