A beautiful experience

Staying in these lodges was a wonderful experience. They are surrounded by forest and let you fully connect with nature. The place is also very clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The landscapes around here are stunning, so wherever you go, you’ll be amazed. I recommend skipping Black Lake as it’s very touristy, and instead exploring the nearby, untouched areas. Staying in places like this is also a more sustainable way to travel, supporting small local families instead of big hotel chains. To you, the sensitive traveler: be prepared – there are many dogs and cats on the streets, some in really bad condition. We, as tourists, can help by raising awareness and supporting local animal rescue organizations like @stray_aid_montenegro or @friendsofdogsmontenegro. Every little donation counts, and together we can help change things!

Sadly, there’s a bit of litter around the lodges – small bottles, cans, and many cigarette butts. This is especially worrying because the area includes peat bogs, which are delicate and protected ecosystems. As a biologist, I truly encourage the owners to take better care of this precious environment – it deserves to be preserved and kept as beautiful as it is. Heating is only with a wood stove – very romantic, but your clothes will smell like smoke for the rest of your stay. Some disorganization with meals, especially if you’re vegetarian – so be careful and clear about your needs.

amazing!! we had the best time, in such a beautiful area, away from everything and yet still a very short car ride to everything. great hot shower, and very comfortable bed. thank you for a wonderful stay. the cabin is so well thought and truly a work of art.

One of the cosiest places we ever slept, perfectly located to visit Durmitor park.

Superb location in the forest, which is much more beautiful than the rather disorganised and not always that attractive heep of holiday homes in Zabljak. The handcrafted wooden bungalow, with much attention to detail, was probably the cosiest place we ever slept in. Small but at the same time spacious enough. High quality chopped wood was in its place to keep the little fireplace going, finishing off the romantic setting. The landlord was a good host.

In front of the bungalow they were still constructing a new bungalow, so the view from our balcony was a bit ruined by that. But of course, in the future this will be fine. I’d also include a water cooker in the kitchen and some kitchen towels.

Stunning self made village in charming environment

Beautiful self made little village in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful hike trail to curevac mountain top directly around. Definitely take the breakfast and dinner - selfmade tasty local specialities. Family athmosphere included.

A place for the rest of soul!

A place for the rest of soul and body. Everyone who loves peace, quiet, maximum atmosphere and comfort should come and experience it here. Owners, brothers are very positive and always ready to meet the guests. Very clean, comfortable to sleep. Warm, with good isolation and all in wood and made for an experience you will hardly find anywhere else. The smell of chopped wood on which we heat is unforgettable. The food is phenomenal and plentiful, prepared with taste and care. Especially the homemade roll-cake that everyone liked. All the best. A must visit!

Wooden lodge with fireplace in wild nature

Fantastic wooden house in absolute wild nature. Fireplace, no tv, no internet.. perfect place to escape from civilization for a couple days. Very warm, cozy and simple, comfortable sleeping places. Good for two people or a family.

Great location - pure nature all around, comfortable beds, friendly stuff - great place (for couples) to escape from city :)

The lodge is not friendly for children under the age of 3 (steep stairs, no carpet, no fence on the fireplace..), very poor equipped (no closet, no shelves, not enough dishes and pots to make food, no chairs..) - not equipped for number of people staying (up to 14).
