About this house rental

A homely bungalow overlooking Merthyr Mawr sand dunes in South Wales. It is in a beautiful and quiet location with great views across the Bristol Channel. The beach is a 15 minute amble through a nature reserve, where you will find a gorgeous beach with sand, rock pools and not many people. Great for families, the bungalow has a lovely retro feel that puts you at ease. Sleeps 5. It is 10 minutes drive from Porthcawl and 30 minutes from Cardiff.

This property can allow you to have a break away from all the modern electronics that we have today. It gave me a feeling of being back in the 70’s, but it is a comfortable bungalow with an excellent view. The countryside provides for some excellent walking amongst sand dunes and along the seashore. The local natives are very friendly

We stayed here the year before last and it was just as quiet. The weather was vile which was no suprise but the cottage was warm and very comfortable. The picture window in the sitting room lets you see what the elements are throwing at the Welsh coast whilst snug as a bug. The cottage is not luxurious but every thing we needed was there and all works. For the price we love it. My only problem is that to get from the car to the property you have to walk up a grass frontage, not a drama in nice weather, but it has been tipping down for i would guess, weeks and the grass was very treacherous and any one who has mobility issues would be advised to think about renting. Shame. Over all very happy with our stay. Thank you for having us.

The accommodation has everything you need. It could be seen as little outdated in areas, but for us it was charming and a tad retro. The weather wasn't very good during our stay, but the house was clean, warm and cosy and we felt very comfortable. The view from the living room is beautiful, there was even a stag outside the house one afternoon! The location is great and just a 10 minute walk to the most beautiful beach.

We stayed for 5 nights over New Year’s Eve and the property was super cosy and warm! Stunning view from the lounge, kitchen and master bedroom and we managed to see one sunrise on the beach which was spectacular. Also saw 3 deer in the massive dunes at Merthyr Mawr. Our kids, 12 & 13 and us really loved lounging on the plush sofas watching the great dvd collection and tv channels as well as gazing out of the huge window to watch the kitesurfers with the binoculars. Return to London super relaxed. Many thanks for everything.

We loved our stay here. The fabulous location and views more than make up for the little bits that need repairing or updating. We will return again and again hopefully. The drains need looking at though due to bad smell when taps run. Curtains need rehooking, bathroom hot tap dripping. Outside light broken, and is needs repairing as no street lights after dark. Could do with knowing there is no back garden though,as we had our dogs with us. Did message owner on arrival over something, but never received a reply but pre arriving, comms were very good. Fantastic views and quirky, basic facilities, but our favourite welsh holiday ever .
