CasaDuarte "Balcony" (2 bedroom Apt.)

We loved our time at the apartment. Henrique the host was very kind and helpful. He gave us information on local attractions, beaches & restaurants. The apartment is in a great location and parking was only a short walk at the end of the street. We loved the homely feel of the apartment and made good use of the balcony and rooftop area.

No washing machine but it wasn’t a big problem

Even though we arrived late, our host met us at the house and took the time to give us loads of info on the local area, and he was lovely! The house was clean and tidy, had everything you need, and a great view from the communal roof terrace. 5 min walk from all the bars, shops, 15min walk to beach. Honestly it couldn't have been better!

Posizione comoda per "vivere" Lagos e raggiungere le spiagge vicine anche a piedi, oltre che per visitare altre località dell'Algarve. Appartamento grande e dotato di tutto il necessario. Host gentile e disponibile. Buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.

Alcuni arredi un po' datati richiederebbero sostituzione (ad esempio le sedie)

The location is excellent with the town minutes away and a large free carpark a few metres down the street. Our host met us at the property to explain everything to us and the communication prior and throughout was very good. The size of the apartment is great. Two good size bedrooms and living/kitchen area with a wrap around balcony overlooking the street. There's also a shared roof terrace with fantastic views over the city walls and the coastline beyond. The bed was comfortable and both rooms had large wardrobes. The bathroom had enough space and surfaces to use. The kitchen was a good size and the fridge was large. Plenty of glasses, plates and kitchen essentials. The property has a dated homely feel.

The apartment is right next to a primary school. We experienced a lot of noise every time we were there - early morning, mid & late afternoon. Not much chance of a quiet lie in or a relaxed coffee on the balcony! The roof terrace is also shared with other apartments in the villa so there isn't any privacy there if that is something you value. The bathroom has no window or extractor fan so gets very wet and steam filled. I don't mind accommodation being dated but a massive gripe is a lack of cleanliness and that is what we saw immediately. From the kettle and coffee maker to the tiles in the kitchen, the cupboards and the moldy shower curtain to name a few, it was just unacceptable. And this wasn't a one off situation as you could see things hadn't been deep cleaned for a long time which is very off putting for a guest. We had to thoroughly wash everything we wanted to use as a lot of dishes were dirty. There are also so many ornaments in every room, and they, along with the lampshades, were all covered in dust. Other Reviewers have commented similarly on the cleanliness so this is nothing that the owners aren't already aware of but for some reason have yet to address which is a shame.
