Casa do Penedo Gerês

Casa do Penedo Geres is probably the most unique stay I have ever experienced. The inside is clean, modern, and well equipped, but it is the many outside spaces that make the place so special. There were sitting spaces on all three levels, a garden full of produce, a shaded patio, and old stone furniture throughout. There was even an ancient granary on the property. We really felt we were experiencing Portugal’s history, but with modern conveniences, and the price was very reasonable. The host also provided a homemade cake as a welcome gift as well as fruit and a bottle of wine.

The only negative for us was that the bed in the main bedroom had very little room to walk around it and was a bit short for my 6 foot 3 husband, who had to sleep diagonally. The positives far outweighed this one issue though, and I can recommend Casa do Penedo Geres very highly.

We loved the creativity of the space built into boulders; the generosity of the hosts and the amazing chocolate cake they gifted us; the gardens and various spots to hang out outside; the vista… we would come back again any time!

The driveway was a bit hair-raising, and maybe a mirror would help for seeing traffic. But we grew used to it!

Adorámos tudo na casa e nos espaços exteriores da casa. Desde a localização, a tranquilidade do sítio, a vista incrível, a casa super catita e limpa, vários pátios para todas as alturas do dia. Foi um tempo muito bem passado em família. Difícil foi convencer as miúdas a saírem de lá

Não houve nada que não tenhamos gostado.

A casa situa-se numa zona muito tranquila, o que adoramos em especial. Fomos recebidos de uma forma calorosa e deixaram-nos à vontade para desfrutar não só da casa como da basta fruta e legumes de época que tinham plantados, bastante lenha para acender a lareira para nós aquecermos, além do maravilhoso bolo de chocolate, compotas e mel da região. Um muito obrigada! Voltaremos em breve!

Embora o tempo no sábado estivesse horrível, podemos desfrutar e aproveitar pela casa. Uma recomendação, será substituir o sobre colchão do quarto de casal por um mais confortável.
