Stairs were steep, bedrooms were on the 2nd floor and bathroom was on the first. Window AC’s were very noisy, in fact had to turn them off in order to sleep. Beds were okay. Had albums to play, but record player did not play at (33) speed.

Charming little house and we were happy to find it.

The house was charming and complete with everything we needed. (The information on the booking.com site lists it as 12,917 square feet. I assume that is a typo.)

The air conditioning unit in the bedroom was extremely loud and make it impossible to get a good night sleep. It would have been nice to be able to open windows instead, but they were taped shut.

Would Not Choose Again

The small front porch with two chairs facing a quiet street. It’s a nice spot for breakfast or dinner. Also, it’s just one block from the main road.

Unfortunately, our stay was quite disappointing. The house is from the early 19th century, which was not mentioned on the listing on booking.com. Had we known this, we would have adjusted our expectations—or chosen a different place entirely. There are no blackout blinds in the bedroom. Also it was very warm at night, and no insect screens—so we couldn’t open the windows (we avoid using the AC at night). The front door could not be locked except for the electronic lock, which used a very simple and easily guessed code. This made us feel uneasy. The biggest issue: little black bugs throughout the house. According to a note on the fridge, they were harmless elm bugs (elm bug season) and spraying had been done, but due to the age of the building with a lot of cracks, bugs were to be expected. Unfortunately, they were everywhere—especially in the bedroom, which we found unacceptable. Because of this, we decided to leave after just one night. We contacted the host through several channels and politely asked for a refund for the remaining two nights (without expecting anything). We never received a reply.

This is like vacation rentals used to be. Some real person lived here. It is nicely appointed, attractive and comfortable. Within a couple blocks of downtown with cafes and bars. Neat and tidy neighborhood. One of us left an iPad behind and the host was terrific in finding it and reassuring us they will send it back. I would return to this place over and over again.

There is only one bathroom....no false advertising. It is on the first floor, while the bedrooms are on the second floor. If you, like me, need to go in the middle of the night you will need to navigate the stairs.

Cute, convenient, and comfortable

We were traveling home from vacation in California and had to stop unexpectedly in Montrose due to a snow storm in the mountains. It was just after lunchtime, very cold outside, and we needed a place to stay with our dog. We booked the Blue Bungalow, which turned out to be perfect. She let us checkin immediately. The yard is fully fenced (6 ft privacy fence in back & side) with a doggie door to the side yard. There was coffee, tea, sugar, creamer and even doggie treats available in the kitchen. The house is very cute inside and out. We were comfortable, warm, and enjoyed our afternoon and overnight there. I don’t recommend this house if you have difficulty with stairs. The stairs to the bedrooms upstairs are steep. There is a pullout sofa and bathroom downstairs.

The Blue Bungalow easily met our expectations. It had everything we needed for our stay and the house is well stocked with amenities. The owner was very prompt and cordial in answering the one question we had. We appreciated being able to do laundry here in the middle of our trip. We would definitely stay here again!

Late October Family Stay

The location was right in between everywhere we went. The house itself is decorated nicely and there was almost everything we needed. All 4 of us slept comfortably. The kids loved the games that where available. And the back porch/yard was just enough for the kids to run around and the adults to sit and drink coffee, etc.

There was just a couple of things that we didn't care for. One is there was only one roll of toilet paper (4 days and 4 girls means it was gone fast). We bought our own. There is a crack in one of the stairs going up and it pinched my foot. The floors were very creeky but it is a old house so we know why. It was just hard to not wake everyone up if you woke up and wanted coffee or to use the bathroom. We figured out parking was on the road when we got there.
