About this house rental

This one-of-a-kind private beachfront property has been in the family for many years. Our family's history on Lopez dates back to 1905.

The signature property features Native American themed artwork, including original paintings by Pacific NW artist Gray Shepard. Inspired by Native American longhouses where tribal members gathered, the basement entertainment area serves as a family gathering place outfitted with modern day amenities including HDTV, Blu-Ray player, foosball, and air hockey tables.

The home sleeps up to 8 with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, game room, gas fireplace, gazebo with hot tub overlooking the water and islands, and patio with 180° sweeping views of neighboring islands, passing marine traffic, gas BBQ, and firebowl table and chairs. The ferry landing is just 5 minutes away. There's a private mooring buoy and a boat launch within walking distance at Odlin County Park. Stairs lead to a private beach.

Lopez Island is the gateway to B.C. and Vancouver Island. Enjoy spectacular 180° views of neighboring islands. The surrounding area is filled with unlimited recreational opportunities.

This home was a lovely place to relax on Lopez Island. The views are absolutely enchanting, especially from the hot tub and the enormous picture window in the living room. We enjoyed time by the firepit and playing air hockey! While it was just the two of us, we can confirm this would be a great house for families with kids. So much to do with the game room and the easy steps down to the beach. The upstairs beds were very comfortable but since we didn't use the downstairs bedrooms we can't vouch for those.

Slightly dated decor (70s vibe - grandma's house?) but has everything you could need. Chaise lounges on the patio were great for soaking in the sun while staring at the water. Hot tub fits 4 people comfortably. Cell reception is terrible so get directions and door code before you leave Anacortes. Plenty of space for our group of 7 adults and 1 infant.

This waterfront location can't be beat. The view is spectacular from inside and outside the home. Great access to the beach. The home is clean and well equipped. Having a hot tub is a real bonus.

Seven of us stayed in this house and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The view onto Shoal Harbor is gorgeous, the hot tub was great, and the house is comfortable and cozy. We cooked most of our meals there and had everything we needed. Angie (local contact) was really quick to respond and helpful when we had a few questions. It was hard to leave!

We had a group of seven family members across three generations, and just loved staying in this beautiful home on Lopez. The view is spectacular, and we all enjoyed watching the light and the water change constantly throughout the day, including watching the ferries come and go and sightings of seals and seabirds. We also enjoyed the beachfront, the deck, and the grassy lawn. The house is very well located, near the ferry and the village, and the hosts were very helpful and responsive.

Wow what a great house with a lower floor perfect for our two cavefish teenagers and the rest of the house for us. We kayaked from here to Obstruction Park (Orcas) and did some fantastic biking around Lopez. Also easy day trip to Friday Harbor. Sad we HAD to leave.... Thanks to Sarah and John for being great hosts!

The view is magic. The property managers were extremely helpful and quick to reply. We biked on the ferry and were able to drop all of our stuff off at the house before checking in later. The hot tub was critical after our huge bike rides. Perfect vacation home.

We loved our two weeks at this house on Lopez. My 4 year old referred to it as the “window house”, which seems apt as the living room features big windows facing out to such a beautiful view of the bay. We loved watching the ferries come and go, the seals and otters playing in the bay, and various birds including an eagle. The front lawn was fun to play on and the beach access was great. We also loved the location - we rode bikes to Spencer Spit and went for runs on the road that runs along the water. It’s near town which is also convenient. The house worked well for our two families. The kids spent a lot of time playing downstairs while the grownups relaxed on the deck or in the living room. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is functional and nice.

We had a family celebration of a 50th Wedding anniversary and 40th birthday. The house worked well for our multi generational group. The house was well equipped and the view spectacular. We had a poor experience with the Washington ferry system and would have appreciated a heads up on the need to be in line an hour early to return to Anacortes. We actually missed the ferries quota twice!

If you are looking for relaxation & quiet...then this is the place. The house has everything you need for an amazing vacation: amazing view, bikes, game room, hot tub, location. Lopez Island is just the island to look for in the San Juans - beautiful, secluded, quiet with just enough restaurants to break up the week of cooking at home. There are more bikes than cars on the road. Deer grazed in the yard every night. The house is perfect to the island ambiance.

Big house. Lovely access to the beach. WIFI was a little spotty but its like that everywhere on Lopez. Only complaint was the big game room/ double bedroom area in the basement after day two was really musty smelling and towards the end of the week nobody wanted to stay downstairs because it was very pungent down there.

We loved the view and we loved seeing all the birds and animals. The L shaped couches facing the water were always occupied. We. Would visit again in a heartbeat if we could bring our daughters dog/child but alas, dogs are not allowed. The house rules notebook talked about dogs being at the house and people in the guest book said their dogs loved the place and there is a great fenced in area that would be perfect for Fideo...its too bad dogs are no longer allowed. I was also never able to find a specific list of things to do at check out so we made our best guess and did the dishes and put towels in the laundry room and covered the bbq, locked windows ect ect. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed the original 70's retro decor, especially the hanging grape bunches light fixtures in the basement bathroom, they were spectular. Over all we loved our time at the house and our time on the island. Thanks for sharing your home.

This spacious house was an excellent spot for a family getaway with our adult children. We found it to be comfortable for 7 (two couples and 3 singles), and a perfect and quiet location for ferry watching; cycling to town and beyond; nature viewing (eagles, otters, deer); walking on the beach, or simply relaxing on the deck and in the hot tub overlooking the water. Well stocked for cooking. We would definitely visit again!

Looking at the pictures on vrbo I knew this house was slightly dated, however upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the house was thoughtfully designed and extremely clean. Yes, dated but very functional and comfortable. The multidimenstional view Orcas island can not be beat! 2 families with 5 children stayed here as a home base as we day tripped around the San Juans by sailboat which we anchored in front of house. (the mooring ball assigned to house did not look well maintained to support our boat). All in all, a great week!

The house was in wonderful order and clean. It was a quiet area - having a lawn, hot tub and outdoor fire place along with a grill was great and used a lot. My husband and I hope to come back for another respite vacation!

For the price we paid plus the $500 deposit seemed very expensive for what it was. Kitchenware was very dated, not enough bath towels, dead spiders on the stairs going down to the game room. But the view was gorgeous!

From beginning to end the trip and house was great. The view cannot be beat. The house had everything that we needed and the kids had a great time in the basement. The beach was quiet and easy/safe to get to. Hot tub was clean. No complaints. We were able to moor our boat without issues.

Our stay at your waterfront home was even more relaxing than we could have imagined. On a sunny day there is no place better on the island to be than in your front yard reading a book or down on the bay in a boat or on a SUP, or beach combing right in front of your place. Even when the sunshine was not cooperating, the home was so comfortable, setup to take full advantage of those amazing views. Watching the otters and the herons, the local boats from the marina across the way and of course the ferries come and go and a good book, there was really no need to get up and go anywhere. Capping off the day with a soak in the hot tub under the stars, while the lights of the ferries glided by, unforgettable. The grocery store had what we needed to prepare meals in your well stocked kitchen. Of course we needed to check out the bakery, farmers market and Fisherman's Pub when we did get to town. The only regret of the weekend. Having to leave for home....
