Wake up to majestic mountain views! This is a beautiful vacation condo we call Baby Bear Tracks. Updated with new recessed lighting and pine tongue and groove walls to make it feel like a cabin! Enjoy granite countertops in a stocked kitchen complete with Keurig and traditional coffee maker for meals with your loved ones.
Looking for a romantic or simply a peaceful relaxing getaway or a flexcation? Our condo is in a highly desirable complex with a resort atmosphere called High Chalet on top of a mountain overlooking Ober Ski Resort and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It is so close to all the fun in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge yet in its own world on top of the mountain!
This unit is easy to get in and out of with 4 small sidewalk steps at the front of the entrance to the building or just walk over a grassy berm at the left side. A mama bear and her cubs visit regularly. There is an awesome view of the mountains, and the tram going into Ober Ski Resort. There are two bedrooms one king and one queen bed that are quite comfy too. We are doing all we can to make this a special place and many of our guests visit time and time again. Also if you have a larger group and want condos close together, contact us for information on reserving other units in the complex that belong to us or to our neighbors.
Sit on your patio first thing in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee and the sunrise and spectacular views of the mountains. I counted 18 turkeys one morning and have seen several bears at one time in the yard by the patio. Always keep a good distance away from them.
Enjoy the pool (Memorial Day until Labor Day) and relax in a nice warm hot tub or sauna up in the pool area. There is also a nice game room with TV next to the pool. Nestle into the sofa recliner to read a book or to check your social media. If you need a place to work while on a "flexcation" you have hi speed internet that is designated for this condo. As you unwind from a day of sightseeing or shopping, enjoy your favorite shows on the big screen TV or tvs in the bedrooms. The instant start electric fireplace will lend a nice atmosphere for your evening!
The condo is near The Smoky Mountain National Park and Ober Gatlinburg, and it is just a short drive down the mountain to the national park entrance where you can experience the beauty via an auto tour or by hiking one of the many trails to a waterfall, or to panoramic overlooks. Spend the day in Gatlinburg where you will find boutiques, fudge shops, dining, shows, museums, Anakeesta, the Skybridge and Ripley's Aquarium. Nearby Pigeon Forge hosts Dollywood Theme Park and a splash park, outlet shopping, live shows, museums, helicopter tours and amusement fun for kids of all ages!
High Chalet Condos are near the top of Ski Mountain and they offer beautiful mountain views as you walk along the grounds. The condo is only about a mile from Ober Gatlinburg which offers year-round family fun and it is a short 15-minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg. Be aware that bears often cross the road so drive carefully. Even though our road is one of the main roads up the mountain, it is winding and steep at times so be sure to be alert when going up and down. You get used to itp. Once in the complex you will find parking near the entrance to the walkway to our unit. It is first come first served so be sure to arrive early for a good spot on busy holidays. There are four short steps down the sidewalk to get to our ground floor level unit, or if you go to the end of the building there are no steps but there is a small grassy berm to walk over.
We also have another 2 bedroom nearby, at vrbo 653549 If you check there, you will see that it also has excellent reviews! We aim to keep both our units nice, pretty and clean. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10 am. This gives our cleaning crew time to get things fresh and clean between guests.

Everything was wonderful! The cabin was clean, well maintained, and the check in instructions sent by email were easy to follow. The views were absolutely amazing.One thing future guests should be aware of is the bears. Our truck had no food inside, and the bed had been cleaned out before our trip, but a bear still climbed on top of it and damaged the bed liner. We also discovered a bear had gotten inside the truck and dragged everything out of the center console. We were certain the truck was locked, but since the bear got inside, we’re wondering if a door may not have latched completely. Thankfully, there wasn’t much damage inside.My husband owns a BBQ restaurant, so we’re guessing the bear may have smelled lingering food odors even though the truck had been cleaned. If you’re driving to the cabin, make sure your vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and don’t leave anything with a scent inside. We saw six bears during our trip, so it’s definitely something to be prepared for.Other than that unexpected wildlife encounter, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this cabin.

We loved our stay here! We saw bear on the way to and from the Vrbo. Great location in the mountains but 15 mins down the mountain to Gatlinburg. Clean and comfortable! Would definitely recommend!

This was the best place I’ve ever stayed in Gatlinburg and I seen multiple bears and will be staying here again .

It was fine, but the condo was dark, low ceilings, and only had a tiny patio that barely fit two chairs, no leg room. You really could not enjoy the outdoor space. The hot tub was across the parking lot and needed to be heated up for at least two hours.
