About this house rental
This is a secluded home, and a lovely place for families with children, and small groups of friends to enjoy spending quality time together. It is a great place to relax and get back to nature. Surrounded in 3 sides by the Sugar Hill State Park, kayaking and canoeing within 10 minutes drive of the house. Located between Seneca and Keuka Lakes with proximate access to swimming and boating. A 10 minute drive to Watkins Glen State Park, and short drive to Mennonite wood-workers, antique shops, and organic locally grown produce stores. Down the road from multiple vineyards and wineries that offer daily wine tasting year round. Unique octagonal-design 3-bedroom house with a gorgeous view over rolling hills. There are 22 floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the house looking out into the forest. Wake up to see the trees and wildlife who approach the house: deer, rabbits and hummingbirds are regular visitors. Located down a winding driveway and away from the road. Two full bathrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size pillowtop mattress, and there are two guest bedrooms: one equipped with double Japanese-style futon, the other with two twin futons great for kids or can be placed together for a king size futon. Mini-split AC units in the main bedroom and the living room / kitchen area, fans available for the two guest bedrooms. The master bathroom and all 3 bedrooms have radiant heated floors that are wonderful in the fall and winter. All sheets and towels are provided. The kitchen has an open layout, and is fully equipped with utensils, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove and oven, toaster, waffle-maker, coffee maker, electric kettle, dishes, pots and pans. The living room has two futon couches that can open out to two queen-size beds and a 'chair-and-a-half' that opens into a twin bed for extra sleeping space if needed. The living room has two sets of sliding glass doors that open onto a beautiful wrap-around porch with gorgeous views over rolling hills and forest. An outdoor natural cedar hot tub that can accommodate 6 people is installed in the deck and overlooks the hills--great to use fall, winter, spring and summer! Outside, there is a small gazebo lovely for breakfast. The house has a washer and dryer, and BBQ. Projector System for watching movies in the evenings. TV with basic channels and wi-fi throughout the house. The property has a very large fenced-in area which is ideal if you bring your dog.

The property was absolutely what we were looking for our get away. It’s tucked away within farm lands and close enough to town if we needed anything. The owner was thoughtful and checked in with us during our stay. We look forward to staying again in the future.

The house and land is very private and secluded with great views of the surrounding nature. The yard around the house is securely fenced and our dog absolutely loved exploring. The cedar hot tub on the deck was very relaxing, and the deck has a gate that can be closed when you don't want your dog to have access to the yard. Katya was also very friendly and responsive and provided plenty of helpful information for our stay. We would definitely come back!

We were in Watkins Glen for a vintage auto race at Watkins Glen International. This vrbo was near the track, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. It turned out there were only 2 in our group, but this home would be comfortable for 6-8 people. The owner was very helpful and responsive.

When we arrived at the property we were surprised by the condition of the driveway...potentially damaging cracks if not careful. Once in the house we were disappointed to find a refrigerator that was not very clean and had expired food in it. There was little room for us to put our groceries in it after we cleaned it. Thankfully we came with cleaning supplies. We also had to dispose of a bag of rice when we saw bugs crawling around in it. While looking around we also found a drawer full of cleaned eggshells....that was surprising. There was quite a bit of dust in the house especially on the fans in the bathrooms and light fixtures. We were warned of the lack of stability of the deck railing but the floor boards could be quite dangerous...there are some cracks in the wood. If you plan on enjoying the deck at night bring flashlights there is little to no light outdoors. Overall we had an enjoyable weekend because we were in good company not because of the property which is a shame. If we paid that much money for a hotel we would have checked out and asked for a refund.
