Perfect for families! This house has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, two living areas, two dining areas, and TWO covered lanais. Enough room for everyone to have some space! Check out the new kitchen! New cabinets, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances.

Located on the gentle slope of Hualalai, just enough elevation to feel the cooling afternoon breezes.

Imagine relaxing by the pool listening to the soothing waterfall. You can grill up that local fish and dine outside in the gazebo. Your senses will enjoy the lovely yard with tropical flowers and plants.

We had an amazing stay! The property was in an ideal location, close in proximity to beaches, grocery stores and restaurants. The pool was fantastic and the sunsets from the lanai’s were absolutely breathtaking! Communications with the host, Rachel, were quick and easy.

We had such a great time on our vacation and staying at Melelina Hale was so convenient. We loved the 2pm check-in which allowed us to get in as soon as our flight landed. There was plenty of room for our 8-person group (3 adults, 4 teenagers, 1 child). In fact, the house was so spacious that we really needed to search to find the kids ;) We spent many evenings watching the sunset from the lanai. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals from home. We didn't get to enjoy the backyard as much as we wanted, but the pool was spacious and we saw many critters (gecko lizards and a couple of turkeys). The house doesn't have a lot of TVs...only one in the main living area and in the master bedroom - so if you have a group that likes to watch a lot of TV then this might not be for you (although we didn't have that problem). The house was centrally located to all the great places in Kona and just a short 1.5 hour drive to the other side of the island. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was well repesented on line. Being from Arizona ws sure nice sit out of the rain and watch it rain...a real treat for us. Beach stuff was real handy also. The house was wonderful! We were all impressed by how clean it was. There was enough space for our whole family to spread out and be comfortable. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed. We sat up on the balcony every night and watched beautiful sunsets. The best part of the house was the pool. The kids wanted to spend their whole vacation in it. We would definitely stay here again!

Melelina Hale is a home away form home. The listing for this house is precise and the host, Rachel, is exceptional. The home is equipped with the essentials plus more and the space was ample. We were able to make dinners at the house as desired. The days we did not travel or go to a beach, we stayed at the house and enjoyed the outdoor pool area. The home met all of our needs and was very comfortable. We traveled from Western New York and our frends were from France. Our European friends have stayed with us at VRBO/vacation homes in the past and this by far was the best!

Absolutely Fabulous! My husband and I and our 3 kids, 29, 30, 31 and their partners. They gave me their feedback haha. There was so many plates and dishes and there was everything that we could ever need. And I had to say that first because our oldest is always travelling and she said that she doesn't always find that. You just had to open a cupboard or drawer and there was what you needed. The location is fantastic and only 10 min away from a fun night life. Rachel was always available to answer any questions we had. 10 out of 10 for us!

We just got home and our family expressed how much they had missed our time spent in the house! The house revealed itself as immaculate and significantly more spacious in person, surpassing what the pictures had portrayed. The kitchen proved to be equipped with an extensive array of cookware, dishes, utensils, along with a well-stocked selection of ingredients and spices, perfectly accommodating our large family’s culinary needs. The dual balconies offered breathtaking views of the ocean and the sunset, a sight that truly left us in awe. Situated conveniently close to the beaches, shopping outlets, restaurants, as well as major stores like Costco and Walmart, the location couldn’t have been more ideal. Our arrival was greeted with delightful assortment of our favorite fruits including avocados, papayas, and pineapple. Even during our exploration of other parts of the island, my family’s desire to return early to enjoy the house’s pool. Rachel, we want to convey our sincere gratitude for your generosity and in accommodating our early arrival. We eagerly look forward to more extended stay at your home when we revisit Kona. The house was great except for the AC, which didn't work properly for 4.5 out of 8 days. The problem was reported on Day 1 when we checked in and again on Day 4 when the temperature was simply intolerable. The problem was blamed on abnormally high temperatures, global warming, climate change, etc., but ended up being a clogged drain with an automatic shutoff and very low freon. On Day 5 of 8, the AC was fixed and worked Great! BTW: the owner did offer a refund if I opted to move to a hotel, but we had already spent heavily on provisions with nowhere to keep them. It was a generous offer, but I would have been much happier if the AC had been checked out prior to our arrival.

We LOVED this house. The pool and yard are beautiful. The kids had so much fun the pool. Everything you need is there including tons of beach towels, beach chairs, toys, umbrellas and coolers. The house has 2 beautiful lanais to watch the sunset. Did I mention a view of the ocean? This property was perfect for us. We were 2 families with children (8 people total) and there was so much room for us to spread out. The house was way bigger than we expected! The location was great, close to all Kona has to offer but in a quiet neighbourhood. We used all the pool toys, beach toys, snorkel gear and the coolers were so awesome to pack lunches for days we decided to venture out and explore the island. The kitchen was incredibly well appointed - we had everything we needed to cook most of our meals at home. Amazing place, would definitely choose Rachel’s property again!

OMG rented this fabulous house in Kailu for the first time Owner supplied everything that you need for a island vacation.the house and property were spotless when we arrived.I cook a lot and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes.pots.& pans i could have fed 30 people.The bedrooms were also well stocked and the beds were great.we had 4 adults & 2 teenagers staying there and the house was stiill big enough for more.when i come back in 2 years I hope this house is available because its the first thing im going to book .

We had an amazing time at this house. I can’t say enough good things. This is the most well equipped rental I’ve ever stayed in. They have everything from condiments, cooking supplies, toiletries, hair dryer, laundry detergent, pack n play, high chair, stroller, beach toys, snorkels/masks/fins (a bucket full). Rachel is also very responsive, the beds are comfy and there is plenty of room for people to spread out on 3 different lanai’s. Thank you so much for having us!!

There were seven of us ,family and friends ,that stayed at Rachel’s beautiful house. Cannot say enough about the location the cleanliness of the house and just having everything that you could absolutely need for week long or even longer stay. The location was wonderful the views terrific and just generally one of the best places we have ever stayed in Kona and we go To Kona every year. I also cannot say enough about Rachel the owner of the house. She was extremely responsive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. I would very highly recommend staying at Rachels home. This property is beautiful and very well appointed. Rachel has literally thought of everything! The pool was wonderful when we were at the house, the extra family room was great to spread out. We enjoyed the delicious welcome basket and used all the beach equipment & towels. The only reason I gave 4 stars on online description is that the pictures on VRBO could be updated to better reflect the layout of the home and updated bathrooms. Also, a side note, while the furniture is completely adequate, it is not the most comfortable couches. They have a very Hawaiian vibe, but I would personally ditch then for something more comfortable. The 4 stars on location and neighborhood I want to explain. The neighborhood is perfectly located with ocean view, 5 minutes to downtown & the ocean, 15 to the airport if you catch the red lights. My only issues was the noise from the cars who do not respect the 25 mph and make a lot of noise on the master bedroom side of the house. Of course this is nothing Rachel can control, so no reflection of her. Just an FYI if you are looking for seclusion and quiet. Overall, we could not have found a house more perfect for our family time in Hawaii! We celebrated our 20 yr anniversary, our son and daughter-in-law's honeymoon, a 10 yr olds birthday, and a surprise engagement! We had 3 couples, 1 teen, and 1 child in our group. Plenty of space for all. Mahalo Rachel! I am hoping this is the beginning of a long and repeating relationship where we can stay over and over! Blessings to you!

We’ve stayed in many VRBO properties over the years, this by far is my favorite. It is bigger than the images indicate, there is so much space. The best stocked property we’ve ever had. It has everything thing you need and more. The backyard and pool was truly a paradise. It’s a quiet neighborhood and away from the hectic areas of town. The AC unit saved us as we traveled in hot August, it helped us be able to sleep at night. There were towels, beach toys, pool toys, kids snorkeling gear, beach chairs, coolers, an ice maker in the fridge and so much more. This unit was clean and beautiful. Communication with the owner was perfect. I can’t say enough good about this place. Enjoy spending time in paradise here!!

Rachel’s home was perfect! We cannot say enough good things about this property. The layout was good, plenty of space to spread out and having 4 full bathrooms was great when 6 people are trying to get ready. The pool area was so nice, there were plenty of pool and beach toys as well. It was the perfect location for all the places we wanted to see around the island. What a wonderful property and host! Before we arrived, every little question I had was answered promptly. Once we got there we were greeted with a lovely welcome basket full of Hawaiian produce including the biggest avocados I'd ever seen! The house was spotless. There were plenty of supplies, cooking utensils, washer, dryer, beach towels, shower necessities. I could go on and on. We all (three families - our sons and our grandkids) loved the place and all that it had to offer. Thank you for helping with our once in a lifetime vacation!
