This non-smoking plantation style unit is located near Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and Barking Sands Beach, with convenient access to restaurants, movie theater, shops, markets, and the famous Jo-Jo's shave ice. The condo-style unit has been recently remodeled and redecorated by a well known designer, and is loaded with amenities that will make you feel instantly at home. Quality furniture and linens, tile floors, and lots of windows to take in that view. One bedroom has a king bed, and the second bedroom has two double beds, which are much roomier than those standard twin beds you find elsewhere.
There is a gas BBQ to make it a pleasure to cook at home.

This is no tourist trap. There are no hotel resorts, no vendors hawking cheap souvenirs. The ground floor apartment, with patio, was very accessible and very clean. All the typical amenities were present and the kitchen was stocked well with all necessary utensils, pots, pans, and coffee makers. Great views of both the sunrise and sunsets. Good sandy beaches to walk and lay on are within walking distance. And the town of Waimea is a short, scenic drive away. Directions to get to, into, and to clean up the space were clear and easy to follow. Lot’s of guidebooks were in the space which was appreciated. We wanted a space away from the more “touristy” spots; and this space met our expectations. Reasons for four stars instead of five:- Highway 50, which runs right between the house and the ocean, is a bit of a nuisance (though we knew what we were getting). Still, more noisy than anticipated—especially the periodic motorcycles which go faster than the posted speed limit of 35 mph.- There is no beach front directly in front of the house. But one can hear the ocean waves “crashing” against the rocks constantly (which is pretty cool.)- There is only one smallish air conditioner in the entire space, so everything but the main bedroom can get pretty warm. Very stuffy in bedroom #2. Fans are provided which did help some with ventilation. - The couch in the living room is NOT comfortable at all—with no comfy footrest. The host would do well to replace that thing for something that doesn’t make one’s tush go numb after 10 minutes. And I’m serious about the numbness.

Property was as described. It is a short walk to one of the nicest beaches. It is on the quiet side of the island but Waimea is close by with stores and restaurants. If ice cold AC is something you want this is probably not for you as there is only one unit in the master bedroom. It did not bother us plenty of fans and the windows open listening to the waves crash all night was heavenly. I love this area of the island.

The view of the open ocean was the best from the porch; however, the road between property and ocean was like a freeway from at least 6am until after 1am. Loud trucks and they drive fast with passing on the 2-lane road in front of property. The kitchen was more like studio apt kitchen but enough. One bathroom with a toilet so low to the floor. More like a toilet for pre-school children. The place had one window AC unit (not central) that really only cooled the one bedroom. Very noisy unit and if you left the bedroom door open it cooled the living room a little but not the second bedroom. You really could not leave doors open for a breeze because bees, wasps, fly's and etc. would fill the home. One child has a bite from a wasp. Ants in master bedroom and a pillow fell on the floor which most likely ants hitched a ride back onto the bed. We had ants in the bed the next evening. Couple of plugins sparked when plugging in devices in master bedroom and in living room. Fun location for 1 or 2 nights but for a lengthy stay it was just too far away from restaurants, beaches and Poipu

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything that we needed to cook dinners for a family of four. We loved the patio table and ate out there almost every day. There is a bit of road noise but it was well worth it for the view of the ocean. It was so nice to walk across the road in the evenings to watch sunset or talk to fishermen.There is a ton of beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, coolers, floaties, sand toys, etc). It was super nice to be able to have everything we needed without having to rent anything.We would definitely stay here again!

The instructions and directions to get to the rental were spot on. The rental was exceptionally clean--nice job Cindy. The kitchen was well stocked with all sorts of pots, pans, and cooking essentials. The laundry room is in the garage along with a bunch of beach items for your use; beach chairs, boogie boards, noodles, coolers, bikes, and swim fin sets We stayed 3 weeks to do all the tourist things as well as just relax; and this was a great place to relax. If you like hussle and bussle, this is not the place. If you want to relax and watch the dolphins and whales go by; then this is the place. Kekaha Beach Park is 1/4 mile up the road and is usually almost empty. There is a lifeguard there during the day. The only downside is some traffic noise since you are close to the road; but more than worth it overall. Would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great stay

Beautiful views from the lanai with whale sightings. Wonderful nearby beach for walking and watching the surfers. Excellent property management by Scott and his team, Keenan and Cindy. Note: this property is in a neighborhood so there may be associated traffic but we felt that the positives of the property outweighed that. The unit is very well equipped and comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We arrived late at night and the directions and instructions into the condo made it so easy. The beds were very comfortable, the condo was clean and stocked with everything we needed and the front porch was enjoyed every morning/evening. The only downside was there was pretty heavy traffic on the road out front and it started pretty early in the day. However, the beach across the road was so peaceful, not busy at all and the sunsets every day were spectacular. Kauai is a beautiful place and we can't wait to return. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

We loved the view of the ocean and how quiet the location was but the traffic on the street in front of the hose was constant and noisy Mon-Fri but the weekend was much quieter. Also, all was really clean and organized but the first night there was a mouse in the kitchen area. But they quickly took care of the miuse and cleaned the kitchen really well.

Beautiful modern home, beach level, all amenities. Beach gear ready to go. Host gave us the snorkeling tip of a lifetime, Lawai beach, behind Beach House restaurant. Great location for watching sunsets and hearing the waves break on the rock barrier just across the street (which was the only downside as there was fairly regular traffic on the street out front that we did our best to tune out) and so close to the beach. Plenty of space and quite comfortable and clean. We purchased fresh fruits and veggies from a local stand in Waimea and the farmers market in Kekaha and prepared many of our meals. We really appreciated the small amount of tourists in the area and at night could see so many stars.

We wanted waterfront and no tourists. That’s what we got. Beautiful setting. Well equipped and clean comfortable place. Close to the magical Polihale State Park Beach. Easy road trips to everywhere else. The furthest spot, other side of the Island, Hanalei Bay only an hour and a half. We enjoyed every day exploring the island and every evening relaxing with the spectacular sunsets right from the lanai.

.After grocery shopping before we arrived, we found out from locals, that there are only two places to eat at in the evening, both of which were closed at 7:30 and by the looks of one place it looked like it was permanently closed. We arrived at the cottage and found that it was not fully air-conditioned. Only the master bedroom was cool. The rest of the cottage was not. This place is at least 45 minutes away from any entertainment or delicious food. We spent one night and left. I would not stay here even if it was free.

We enjoyed this property. It was clean and comfortable. Air conditioner is in the main bedroom so that is a little noisy at night but not bad and it cooled the unit properly. Two sandy beaches are very close and are beautiful beaches to spend the day. We enjoyed our stay.

I’m a former resident coming home to visit. Being from Kekaha, this was the perfect location! Place is super cute with ceiling fans throughout and an AC unit in the master. Had all the amenities I needed and was located right around the corner from my family and friends. Would definitely stay again!

Overall this was a great place to stay. It was clean and spacious and had the amenities we needed. Loved that it had beach towels and chairs, snorkeling equipment, sand toys and beach umbrellas. It was comfortable and very close to a beautiful, not crowded beach. We loved watching sunsets every night and eating outside. There is a highway right in front of the property with constant traffic, even throughout the night, which was not our favorite but overall a good place to stay.

The location of this place was amazing. Views of the beach across the street, close to hiking, beaches and the town of Waimea, comfortable beds, all made this a great place to stay when visiting the Southwest end of Kauai. We were a bit concerned about the proximity of the road but as it turned out it was no problem at all. We used it as our homebase for hiking and other activities on the south shore. A rare find for sure.

Nice and tidy place to stay for a week while visiting. Pros: spacious home, listen to and see the ocean, nice cookware and a good kitchen, very nice backyard area. Two cons: there’s is a main road in front, and you hear traffic it’s far away from other beaches and other areas of the island, so as long as you’re okay with driving to most restaurants or snorkel spots, this is a great pick.

The condo was very clean. There is a nice beach just up the road. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy ocean. There is road noise but you get used to it. We like the west side because it’s not developed. No big resorts. Just local businesses. Short drive to Port Allen for boat trips.

We stayed in Kekaha 20 years ago and again chose Kekaha for our 8 night stay in January 2024. This rental is ocean front. There is a 2 lane road between you and the ocean, but not a big deal for us. I listened for the nightly ocean and wave pounding instead of morning traffic. And the night sky is awesome, stars almost to the horizon. Mind you that the inshore water is tinted red from the Waimea River, but blue further out. We felt we got more bang for the buck in Kekaha which is away from the touristy Poipu, Kapaa, or Princeville. We did not want to be in a resort or a sea of condos. A huge, sandy beach is a 5 minute walk and sunsets everyday (beware currents). You will not find the crowds like at Poipu! The property hosts were available and courteous. The unit was as listed and the kitchen was outfitted with everything you need. Washer and dryer were great, internet was fine (if you have to work as we did), and the beds were comfortable. We did use the grill which was practically new and taken care of. We used the provided beach chairs and towels. Please note that there are no restaurants in Kekaha, but one the the local markets has good takeout. Wiamea has a very good grocery and several places to eat. Hanapepe Friday Art Night is a great event not to miss. If we go a third time, I would look at this property first. Aloha.

Wonderfull apartment with everything you need. We probably enjoyed the shower the most and the kitchen has everything needed - cooked a full Turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. The location is absolutely fabulous and I enjoyed every morning the straight view to the ocean when opening the front door. The whole fam would love to come back - maybe one day…

Location is right across a long gorgeous beach. You do see the sunrise and sunset on this beach. Great open house set-up. The cart by the kitchen i rolled in front of the door so I can chop and watch the Ocean. Great place to stay if you have family. Scott was very responsive and accommodating. Place was clean. We both really enjoyed staying here! Very clean. The road noise wasn’t a problem at all for us because there isn’t that much traffic. We loved being right on the ocean. Heard the waves crashing a lot. Soothing. It is on a quiet area of the island. The bed was comfortable and we were so glad the owner had beach things available; chairs, towels, noodles, snorkeling things. All of that came in very handy! Waimea State Park was close by and we attended church at Waimea Baptist Church. Friendly congregation. We would recommend this place!
